In the previous grace period (2010 - 2011), this pensioner had already used the right to travel compensation.

The court dismissed this claim because considered that the decisive factor was not the geography of the vacation, but the year in which the right to a reduced fare for this citizen appears - not the time of compensation payment, but the period of the trip itself within two years. But the repeated payment of travel in the same period in which there was already a reimbursement of transport services by the rules is not provided.

According to the court, pensioner D. could use his right to travel compensation for a new two-year period, dating from 2012-2013, by presenting travel documents to and from the resort, which would confirm his being on vacation only in 2012 or 2013. ., but not in 2011, because for 2010 - 2011 the reduced fare has already been paid for with travel documents dated October 2010.

If the pensioner has not applied for compensation in the past two-year period, then compensation for this period will not be paid.

Types of compensation

A similar benefit is provided to pensioners of the North in two versions, and they themselves have the right to choose the one that suits them.

Getting tickets before travel

In the first case, a pensioner can apply to the pension office with an application for travel documents to the place of rest and back even before the planned trip. Further, if the territorial pension authority has an appropriate agreement with the transport service and has special coupons available, it can provide them to a retired citizen so that he can receive his travel documents at the box office of the "sponsored" transport agency.

A stopover, if it was planned by a pensioner-"health resort" and is in a direction that does not deviate from the main route, is not an obstacle to refund money for travel on vacation and back.

If the pensioner has chosen a comfortable ride

If a northerner pensioner, who has the right to travel compensation, traveled to rest with more comfortable transport of increased cost (by a fast train, in a compartment carriage of a passenger, company train) than the rules for granting this benefit regulate, then the Pension Fund will reimburse travel costs within the existing minimum tariffs.

An important nuance: it is necessary to confirm precisely that on this railway line, passenger trains do not carry out transportation at all, and not at the time of travel or purchase of a ticket.

How to get compensation for travel to the place of rest and back

Written applications for reimbursement of travel expenses for holidays from pensioners of the Northern regions are accepted by the FIU at their place of residence. For the same purpose, pensioners of the North can contact the MFC or the post office.

In the case of only an upcoming trip, you will need to attach documentary evidence of the intended stay of the pensioner in the recreation area to the application form (voucher, course ticket, etc.). The place of rest must be indicated in the application.

To return the money spent on the trip, the travel documents issued by the transport services are added to the written application from the pensioner.

The FIU makes a decision on the provision or refusal to provide compensation within 10 working days from the date of submission of the application and within 1 working day from the date of the decision, notifies the pensioner of its decision.

The service for purchasing electronic tickets is undeniably convenient. But when buying an electronic ticket, you need to keep in mind that it must be in Russian. If the ticket is issued in another language, the passenger must ask the transport agency for an itinerary receipt or a certificate that contains clear information about the passenger, with the agency's stamp, drawn up in Russian or in Latin by transliteration.
