Crochet pattern popcorn bedspreads. Crochet popcorn or corn grain pattern. Here is a crochet pattern for the Popcorn pattern.

In today's episode of the series, the basic elements of crochet knitting pattern for puff and popcorn... Designations of these elements in the diagrams.

Puff or tubercle

Usually, a tubercle is a group of three or more columns connected at the top and at the base.

Conventional puff designation on knitting patterns:

  • interesting selection on the site !!!
  • Side of female, adult models, without children.

They knit it like this. * Put the thread on the hook, insert the hook into the loop of the previous row, pull out a new loop *, repeat from * and to * two or more times, pulling new loops from the same loop of the base. There are now 7 or more stitches on the hook. Put the thread back over the shaft of the hook and pull it through all the loops on the hook.
In most cases, knit to secure the tubercle.

"Popcorn"

A popcorn is formed when several finished stitches are knitted from one stitch of the base, and then the top stitch of the first stitch is connected to the top stitch of the last stitch to form a cup.
It fits in the following way. Work four or more double crochets into one base loop.

Remove the last loop from the hook. Insert the crochet hook into the top loop of the first stitch made. Then put the dropped loop on the hook. When knitting a row on the back of the work, re-insert the crochet hook on the back to "push" the Popcorn to the front of the work. Pull the first loop through the second loop on the hook to secure the popcorn top.

In crocheting, there are quite a few different techniques))) One of the techniques is knitting various groups of columns, such groups include groups of columns with a single top, knitted from both one loop and several, shells, various ... yes there are a lot of them))) Today we will look at the technique of knitting an element called crochet popcorn ...

Crochet popcorn is a group of full crochet stitches knitted from one loop and pulled together in a special way. Check out the picture below ...

how to crochet popcorn

Now, using an example ...))) I found such a wonderful schematic with a heart in the internet and connected a sample on it. I suggest you do this too)))

in knitting this pattern used (VP), (CCH), and popcorn We knit a chain of 21 VP + 3 VP lifting

1 row - RLS

2nd row - 3 VP of the rise, 9 CCH, popcorn, 10 CCH.

in 11 loop we knit 5 columns with a crochet
we take out the hook from the last loop of the group of 5 CCHs and insert it into the loop of the first column of this group, and then into the loop from which the hook was pulled out ... grab the working thread and pull it through both loops on the hook
grab the working thread again and pull it through the loop on the hook again,
thereby fixing the group of columns "popcorn"
We knit the rest of the rows strictly according to the above scheme)))

and we get such a nice sample with a heart associated with the use of crochet popcorn)))
Look at what photo I found on the Internet)))
unfortunately, I do not know either the author or the performer of this beauty ...

And this is where I finish my speech ... Until next time!)))

Popcorn is a very effective crochet pattern. The embossed fabric formed by the popcorn loops looks good on knitted baby clothes. However, on a summer crocheted women's top, popcorn will also be appropriate. Popcorn can also be used as a decorative element when knitting necklines and sleeves or when knitting cuffs and elastic bands on a jumper or jacket. Well, the most patient can make a crocheted blanket with a popcorn pattern.

So, let's learn how to crochet a popcorn pattern.

Take a hook that is thick enough - number 6, for example, and woolen yarn that is suitable in thickness for this hook.

  • Row 1: Let's make a chain of air loops of any length. The optimal length for the pattern we knit is 10 cm. You can focus on this figure or make a chain of a slightly larger or slightly smaller size. How wonderful it would be if, over time, an automatic buttonhole counter was invented for hand knitting, then we would not have to count how many chain stitches we put on. For all the fantasticness of this desire, it is quite realizable. After all, you can henceforth calculate the number of steps and kilometers traveled, focusing not on our mental calculations, but on a pedometer, the price for which is very acceptable, given that such an accessory used when walking perfectly stimulates weight loss.
  • We knit row 2: without turning the knitting, at the end of the chain of air loops we will make two lifting air loops, that is, we will simply knit two more loops additionally.

We make a yarn over the hook and insert it into the third loop from the hook (we count, taking into account the additional loops we have collected). We grab the yarn with the crochet and pull the hook out of the loop of the base. After this operation, we should have 3 loops on the hook. Now we will knit these loops on the hook in 2 steps. To do this, we grab the working thread with a crochet (we make a yarn, simply) and pull the hook through the first two loops - as a result of this action, we get 2 loops on the hook. Now we knit them in the same way: we hook the thread and pull it through the two remaining loops - we get 1 loop on the hook. As a result of these actions, we completed a column with 1 crochet.

Repeat this operation twice, knitting two more new stitches into the same base loop.

After we have knitted 3 columns in 1 loop, we need to connect the tops of three columns. To do this, we turn the hook from back to front so that it can be inserted into the upper loop of the first column, grab the working thread with the crochet and pull the hook through the loop of the first column, into which we, in fact, introduced the hook.

As a result of all these simple steps, we got one crocheted popcorn.

We will knit the second popcorn of the row according to the same principle as the first popcorn, but inserting the hook no longer into the next loop of the base, but skipping 2 loops on a chain of air loops.

Important: Before making the next popcorn, remember to do 2 chain stitches. And so every time, performing popcorns in a row, they must be separated between themselves by two air loops.

A very cute handbag crocheted with a pattern of popcorn or corn, as it is often called. All parts of the bag are knitted separately and then sewn. Then the bottom is reinforced with a solid base and the lining is sewn. All pattern patterns and a master class are attached.

Description of knitting bag * Popcorn *

Bag size: 27 * 10 * 20 cm.
Materials: yarn Omega Hilo Nylon No. 9 (100% nylon - polyamide, 200 g / 310 m.), Hook 2.75 mm., Square plates 1.3 * 3.1 cm., Buckles 1.5 * 3 cm., Rings, diameter 2.5 mm., Metal hooks for bags 4.2 * 2.4 cm, zipper.

Tie 2 canvases measuring 27 * 20 cm with the "Popcorn" pattern (back and front).
Tie 2 canvases measuring 10 * 20 cm with single crochet columns (sides).
Tie a 27 * 10 cm canvas with single crochet columns (bottom of the bag).
Tie 2 canvases measuring 27 * 5 cm (two parts of the top of the bag).
Tie all the edges with half-double crochet, then connect all the parts, as shown in the master class.
Sew in lining.

Handles: Tie two short twisted handles and one long single crochet.
Using rings, buckles and a crochet hook, connect the handles to the bag as in the photo, this is very clearly visible in this master class.

Scheme and description of knitting popcorn pattern:

The "popcorn" pattern is knitted with half-columns and columns with one and two crochets. First, we knit three or four columns with a crochet in one loop of the chain.

Then we connect the first and last double crochets together.

One popcorn cone is ready.

The popcorn pattern can be knitted so that it is visible from both sides of the fabric. To do this, remove the hook from the loop, re-insert it into the loop from the front, and then the popcorn pattern will appear on the front side of the canvas. If you insert the crochet from the back, the pattern will appear on the wrong side.

To make the "popcorn" pattern not too loose and look neat, you must:

  • Crochet stitches smaller than the entire fabric.
  • The pattern should consist of fewer loops.
  • Tie a bump instead of the popcorn.

The "popcorn" pattern got this name because it really resembles something voluminous, as plump as popcorn grains.

The "popcorn" pattern is knitted with half-columns and columns with one and two crochets.

And so let's see how this is done:

First, we knit three or four double crochets in one loop of the chain.

Then we connect the first and last double crochets together.

To consolidate the material, I suggest watching another video lesson "Popcorn"

I usually start knitting flowers with a slip loop. I decided to do the same today.

1 row fits like this: It is simple as always. We knit 6 single crochet inside the sliding loop. Of course, we tighten the loop by pulling the end of the thread, and close the first row with a connecting loop.

2 row. Also uncomplicated. We knit in each loop of the base 2 single crochet. And we connect the first and last loops of the row with a connecting loop. Well, now it's time to change the thread color. we cut off the old thread mercilessly and choose another, more colorful.

We knit 3 row. We thread the hook into any loop of the base, the one that we like more, and pull out the loop using a thread of a different color. Then we knit 2 air loops for lifting. In the same loop we started with, we knit a column with one crochet, then two air loops.

In the next loop of the base, we knit 2 columns with one crochet. Next, knitting is repeated: 2 air loops and 2 double crochet. So we knit to the end of the row. At the end of the row, we connect the first and last loops with a connecting loop.

4 row. It's already more complicated. Again, we change the thread to some other, no less colorful. We put a hook under the air chain, take out the loop, and knit 2 air loops for lifting. Then we knit 5 stitches with one crochet at the same point from which we began to knit the fourth row.

Now we knit popcorn. To do this, we pull the hook out of the loop, thread it into the 2nd air loop, then into the loop from which it was just taken out and pull one loop through the other.

And now we turn on the crochet video lesson and see how it knits further, because I did not have the patience to describe all the details.

And I remind you that it is strictly forbidden to re-upload videos to third-party services.
