How to choose a tracksuit? A few tips. Fabric for sportswear, suits: description

Knitwear is obviously a popular fabric for tailoring. It is flexible, convenient and comfortable. And also, prints hold well on knitwear, giving this fabric additional "points" in the modern world. The most active consumers of knitted clothes are children, because their clothes from birth should be soft and comfortable, following the movements of the baby. But adults also intersect with a variety of garments made from knitwear. In particular, on the site krasotka-market.ru you will find a large selection of knitted clothing for every taste. Let's see what types of knitwear exist and what is sewn from this fabric.

1. Cooler. Thin knitted fabric that curls around the edges if pulled a little. The front side of Kulir looks like parallel stripes ("herringbones"), and the reverse side looks like waves perpendicular to the "fir trees". Summer things are usually sewn from this fabric - T-shirts, T-shirts, children's shorts, pajamas. The Kulir variety - stretch cooler perfectly keeps its shape. However, such fabric stretches well due to the presence of elastin fibers, so it is better to choose it for adult clothing. For children, a cooler made of 100% cotton is more suitable.

2. Interlock. Reversible knitted fabric, which can be difficult to distinguish between the right side and the back (both look like parallel stripes). Summer and spring clothes are sewn with Interlock: thick T-shirts, long-sleeved blouses, hats, women's and men's knee-highs.

3. Footer- this is a dense knitted fabric, from which sweatshirts, sweaters, raglans, sweatpants with fleece are most often sewn. In our area Footer called two-strand or three-strand (depending on the production method). And also, this canvas is sometimes with a pile (loops or a puff on the wrong side), and sometimes - without. Warm Footer has a density of 300, 320 and more: in this case, the back fabric can have bouffant up to 5 mm thick! Well, for lighter blouses, a stretch footer is also suitable, it stretches well, but has synthetic additives.

4.Rebana- a fabric made by the "elastic" method 1 by 1 (for light clothing) or 2 by 2 (for winter sweaters such as sweatshirts). This canvas is completely natural or with admixtures of elastane. Linen, children's T-shirts or shorts are sewn from a natural rebana, but a rebana with elastane is suitable for finishing cuffs and necklines (it stretches well and shrinks back without deforming the product).

5... Kashkorse (rib). Knitted fabric that stretches very well, because it is made by weaving an elastic band. This is the best fabric for sewing golf (turtlenecks), but only if your sewing machine works well with stretch fabrics. If you work on a regular typewriter, the kashkorse runs the risk of stretching too much during the sewing process (especially in the openings of the sleeves and the neck of the sweater). Kashkorse is available with or without fleece. Often in stores you can find children's golf shirts with kashkors pile outside, but this is a mistake. In fact, clothes made from this fabric should be worn with a fleece inside! It's warmer this way.

6. Kapiton. Sandwich fabric. Between two thin layers of natural knitted fabric there is a thin layer of insulation (such as padding polyester). Thanks to this, Kapiton is not inferior in warmth even to fu, but at the same time it can be called the softest canvas created especially for babies. Warm pajamas, sweaters, hats, and women's blouses are also made with Kapiton.

7.Fleece Is also jersey! But synthetic. In fact, fleece is a synthetic knitted fabric that has been punctured well with felting needles. Of course, this is done in factories using special equipment, but thanks to this "tingling", the fabric "overgrows" with fluff on both sides. Regular fleece can be used as a backing for trousers, sweatshirts, jackets, and anti-pilling fleece (such, not very shaggy) - for full-fledged sweaters, warm pants, hats, scarves and gloves.

8. Velours characterized by a gentle down on the front side. The turnover, on the contrary, remains “naked”, and its structure clearly indicates that it belongs to the knitted fabric family. Usually, velor is made from synthetic fibers, so it is often not recommended to wear clothes made of this fabric for children. Well, in the adult world, this material is a favorite among women. Velor blouses and tracksuits are very popular now!

9. Velsoft. Some people call velsoft artificial fur, but this is not entirely true: it is a soft pile on a knitted basis. Velsoft can be either completely natural or synthetic. Pajamas are made from natural (for example, One-Piece), and from artificial - sweaters, carnival costumes, linings for jackets.

10. Viscose. We left this artificial knitted fabric for last - a purely adult material from which womens tops, T-shirts, dresses and blouses are usually sewn. Viscose jersey has very good stretch properties due to its high content of fat fibers.

Sewing materials

We use materials with a special hydrophobic treatment for sewing hockey jerseys. Due to this, they have the properties of simultaneously allowing air to pass through and not absorbing moisture. This allows the shirts to stay dry and, through ventilation, prevent the player from overheating.
Hockey fabric consists of two knitted layers, so that the shirt does not "unravel" when snags and cuts. Special yarns provide improved abrasion and tear resistance.
Our materials are completely similar to those used by well-known brands for the equipment of national teams and NHL teams.
The composition of all knitted fabrics is 100% polyester, density 190 - 230 g / m2.

Hockey fake net Density 205 g / m2 - canvas with small depressions on the surface. Medium stretch. The most popular material used for professional and amateur t-shirts. Manufactured in Korea.

When choosing sportswear, you need to pay attention to the fabric, cut features, the presence of special inserts made of mesh material and other parameters. Let's take everything in order.

Fabric and special technologies

Previously, cotton was recognized as the best fabric for sportswear. Now it is also used in production, but, as a rule, in combination with polyester.

The fact is that cotton gets wet quickly from sweat and retains moisture on the surface of the fibers, so you can catch a cold after an intense workout.

16 times less water droplets are retained on the surface of polyester fibers (PE, PL, Polyester), so synthetic clothing dries faster. Elastane (EL, Elastane, Spandex) provides good breathability, stain resistance and fade resistance.

Polyester and elastane leggings

Also, in the production of sportswear, microfiber polyamide (PA) is used, also known as Meryl or Tactel. This fabric does not stick to the body and is breathable.

In sportswear, a two-layer fabric structure is often used. They take two different synthetic threads (for example, polyester and elastane or cotton and polyester) and create a special structure when the weave is thicker inside the fabric and thinner outside. Due to this, moisture is removed from the body, removed to the surface, evenly distributed over it and evaporates quickly.

Well-known brands are constantly developing new ones, but their essence is usually not disclosed. Manufacturers limit themselves to mentioning functions and do not go into details. Here are some examples:

  • Climacool - the fabric removes moisture and heat to the surface, provides micro-ventilation.
  • Climalite is a blend of polyester and elastane, a lightweight, breathable fabric that wicks moisture away from the skin. It's really cool in such clothes, it dries quickly.

Climalite Tee
  • Quik Cotton is a double weave cotton and polyester fabric. The percentage can be different. For example, 63% cotton and 37% polyester.
  • Speedwick is a sweat-wicking synthetic fabric made from polyester and elastane. Feels like cotton.

Items created with Speedwick technology
  • ActivChill is Reebok's pentagon-shaped weave technology. The fabric is breathable and provides good ventilation.

In addition, sportswear made from synthetic fabrics is very practical. After many washes, T-shirts, leggings and shorts do not lose their shape and color, they do not need to be ironed. If you train often - every other day or every day, this will be a big advantage.

Style and compression

Previously, I associated sportswear with rather spacious things: stretched T-shirts and wide trousers, which do not press or press anywhere. Now the views on this issue have changed.

Loose clothing is great for the home, but when you play sports, the flapping sails around you will get in the way. This has a bad effect on aerodynamic properties and interferes with stretching. And if you, for example, roll your body on a spiked massage roller, the edges of the T-shirt roll up under it and this is very annoying.

Choose clothes that are snug but not tight. If you choose synthetic fabrics, you don't have to worry about the wet T-shirt sticking to your body and getting in the way.

In addition to special fabrics and technologies, mesh inserts are often used in sportswear: in the armpits, on the back, on the chest. Meshes provide extra ventilation.

Compression clothing is suitable for intense exercise. She not only looks good, but also helps you cope with unusually hard workouts. Intensive running, strength exercises with heavy lifting, preparation for a competition, as well as a tendency to edema and varicose veins - all these are indications for the use of compression underwear.

Light uniform squeezing of the limbs helps the vessels withstand heavy loads. In addition, the compression garment reduces muscle soreness after exercise and helps you recover faster.

Nevertheless, compression items should be left in case of unusual excessive loads. Constant wearing of such clothes reduces vascular tone.

Underwear and socks

Compression underwear should be considered for cyclists and track and field athletes. It has no seams, so you can avoid chafing and discomfort during your workouts. In addition, the compression panties evenly compress the muscles in the hips and buttocks, reducing post-workout soreness and accelerating recovery.

The right sports top is especially important for women. During running and jumping, the ligaments of the chest stretch, so that it quickly loses its shape. Age, pregnancy and feeding do not spare your bust anyway, help him at least during sports.

Sports bras are made from the same synthetic materials as clothing, but they are usually much denser. So it is unlikely that you will be able to avoid underwear wet from sweat (especially under the shirt, so the moisture evaporates not so efficiently).

There are several options for sports bras: from an elastic fabric without cups and with a division into cups. The first option will simply press the bust against the ribcage and fix it. I like these bras, although they feel like you have no breasts at all.

Sports bra

The second option - with cups - is suitable for girls with a large size.

For the top to support the chest well and not squeeze the shoulders, it should have fairly wide shoulder straps and a wide elastic band at the bottom. Supports the chest of a model with a T-shaped and V-shaped backs. Mesh panels can slightly improve breathability, but still don't rely on your bra to stay dry after an intense workout (that's my experience, maybe someone's wrong).

There are also special socks for sports. They differ from ordinary socks in materials and some features of the cut. Like clothing, sports socks are not made from 100% cotton, but either from a combination of cotton with polyamide or polyester, or polyester and elastane. This means that they better allow air to pass through and remove moisture, last longer and do not lose their shape.

Sports socks have a tighter elastic to keep them from slipping during workouts, and a thinner, flatter seam in the toes. To follow the shape of the leg, the socks are divided into right and left.

Features of sports shoes

The choice of footwear depends on the sport. If you are heading to the gym to work with a barbell and dumbbells, you should not take sneakers with a reinforced, springy sole. It should be low (no more than 2–2.5 cm) and without noticeable thickening on the heel. It is also advisable to choose shoes with a grooved (so that the sneakers do not slip) and flexible enough (so that the foot is comfortable) soles.

If you're looking for a running shoe, consider the springy, thicker soles. When choosing a running shoe, you need to pay attention to several parameters:

  • foot structure;
  • the surface on which you will run;
  • the intensity and type of running.

To determine the structural features of the foot (the degree of pronation), conduct a test with a sheet of paper and water. Wet your foot and leave a wet print on the sheet.

Pronation degree

If you are over-pronated and / or overweight, consider a shoe with good cushioning and instep support. The latter will soften the impact of the foot on the ground while running and protect the knees from injury. But if you have neutral or hypopronation, you should not buy shoes with an instep support: the risk of twisting your foot increases.

The greater the weight of the athlete and the less prepared his ligaments and muscles, the more he needs foot support and cushioning. Modern running shoes use different materials for cushioning: gel, foam, plastic inserts.

A high heel reduces the risk of injury, however, the hard parts of it should not press on the foot or dig into the leg: all this is fraught with pain and calluses after training.

The front of your running shoe should be flexible. In some modern sneakers, it is made entirely of synthetic breathable fabric. It seems that you are running in socks with springy soles. It is very convenient.

Sneakers with soft toe

Other sneakers have stiffening elements in the forefoot, but the upper is mostly made of mesh fabric, which is great for breathability.

Sneakers with mesh

Do not buy shoes back to back: there should be about 3 mm between the toe and the toe of the sneaker. While running, the foot increases in size. And if your toe rests on the shoe, you could damage your nail.

When choosing shoes, you need to remember what kind of surface and what time of year you will be running. For summer jogging on tarmac, stadium or gym treadmills, sneakers with a soft, thin sole and a fabric or mesh upper are suitable.

For trail running, such as forest paths, you need stiffer shoes with deeper tread to protect your foot. Off-road and trail running shoes have extra protection at the toe to keep you away from branches and sharp rocks, as well as deep tread and spikes.

Running shoes for fall, winter and spring are also heavier: the mesh upper is replaced by a denser, waterproof one.

Basic set for summer or gym

So, if you decide to practice outdoors in the summer or early fall, you will need a basic set of things for different weather:

If it's sunny and hot:

  • T-shirt and shorts made of synthetic breathable materials;
  • lightweight sneakers;
  • headdress;
  • Sunglasses.

If it's raining and cool:

  • lightweight long-sleeved T-shirt;
  • shorts or leggings;
  • sneakers with waterproof upper;
  • a hat with a visor so that the rain does not interfere with seeing.

Basic set for spring and autumn

Running in light clothes is dangerous: you can catch a cold. Moreover, it should be borne in mind that after serious exertion, the immunity decreases slightly.

In warm weather, you can wear leggings, a long-sleeved T-shirt and a windbreaker. Sports windbreakers are made from a membrane fabric, thanks to which sweat does not accumulate under the jacket, but is brought to the surface. At the same time, the outer layer of the jacket is waterproof and retains warmth. The hood will be a plus. If not, you need a light sports hat.

Thermal underwear is useful for late autumn and early spring. It is sewn from polypropylene or polyester, using a special weaving, due to which moisture is transferred from the surface of the body to the fabric. The seams of the thermal underwear are on the outside, so you can not be afraid of abrasions.

Basic set for winter

The bottom layer is thermal underwear or synthetic sportswear that wicks moisture away from the body.

The upper layer is a jacket made of membrane fabric, which, thanks to micropores, allows water vapor to pass from the inside, but not drops of water from the outside. Vapors from the body penetrate through the first layer of clothing and emerge to the surface as vapor.

This technology is used in the clothes of the famous Columbia brand. Omni-Tech branded jackets feature a waterproof and moisture-wicking membrane.

Also, the jacket may have additional ventilation in case the membrane cannot cope with the fumes. If you sweat a lot while exercising, consider this option.

There are several types of membrane jackets:

  • Single layer... The membrane is applied to the fabric and protected with a polyurethane coating. These jackets are suitable for spring, they are very lightweight.
  • Double layer... In such jackets, the membrane is also applied to the fabric, but does not have a polyurethane protective coating. Instead, a mesh lining protects the membrane. These jackets will last longer.
  • Three-layer... In such jackets, the membrane is located between two layers of fabric: the outer layer and the lining. This is the most durable option.

One of the most famous membranes is. This material is made of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) with a thin PU film and is highly waterproof. Clothes and shoes with this membrane are excellent for air permeability and moisture removal, but they are also quite expensive.

A more modern membrane is eVent. Together with a protective PU layer, which reduces vapor permeability, an oil substance is used here, due to which the pores of the membrane conduct evaporation better. Pore-free membranes like Triple-Point and Sympatex are very good at protecting against precipitation, but rather poorly at removing body vapors in high humidity.

The ability of a jacket to wick away sweat is strongly influenced not only by the type of membrane, but also by what you wear under it.

Under jackets with a membrane, it is worth wearing clothes that wick away moisture: sportswear made of synthetic materials or thermal underwear.

If you put a thick cotton sweater down, it will get wet. Sweat will not be effectively transported to the surface of the jacket, and you will exercise in wet clothes.

Another well-known technology for winter clothing is Omni-Heat. These are the aluminum dots on the lining of the garment that are easy to recognize for Columbia jackets. The aluminum dots retain body heat and the space between them prevents overheating.

Omni-Heat

Sports jacket labels sometimes indicate the temperature at which you will feel comfortable exercising. For example, here is a jacket for -10 ° C and an option for 0 ° C.

Additional attributes

Sports caps are made from a combination of wool with synthetic materials: polyester, acrylic, polypropylene.

Hats for warmer weather do not have additional insulation. They are lightweight and wick away moisture well. For severe cold weather, it is better to take a hat with fleece insulation. Also, in cold weather and strong winds, you may need a balaclava - a woolen mask that covers your face.

If you don't want to train with wet hair, consider a Windstopper beanie. It is a pore membrane applied to the lining fabric. It passes water well in a vaporous state. In addition to the lining and membrane, these hats have a top layer that protects from wind and cold, but allows steam to pass through. As a result, you will not be left with wet hair, but at the same time your head will be warm.

An equally important attribute of winter training is gloves made of wool and synthetic materials. There are options with non-slip inserts and a special material on the fingers for using smartphones.

That's all. What do you train in? Share your observations about comfortable sportswear in the comments.

Knitted fabric is a textile material (knitted fabric) or a finished product from a knitted fabric, the structure of which is interconnected loops, in contrast to the fabric, which is formed as a result of the interweaving of two systems of threads (warp and weft) located in two mutually perpendicular directions. The knitted fabric is characterized by extensibility, elasticity and softness. In the production of knitted fabrics, synthetic, cotton, woolen and silk fibers are used in their pure form or in various combinations, including with the addition of elastane.

Over the past 50 years, the world of light industry has undergone tremendous changes. Synthetic materials have replaced traditional cotton and linen. In fact,

You probably know this feeling - after an intense workout, take off your cotton T-shirt. She stuck and does not want to leave your heated body in any way. In this case, cotton often does not hold up and tears either at the seam or at the fabric.

Let me tell you a little about the technology for the production of synthetic fabric. All synthetic fabrics are made from petroleum. As a result of processing, it turns into polyester fibers. Then, from the fibers, a thread is created of the required thickness and section. The process is somewhat similar to a meat grinder - the fiber is exposed to high pressure and forced through the section in the unit.

After receiving all the necessary threads, the weaving process begins. Several types of threads are fed to the most complex machine, which in a special way, depending on the tasks of future clothes, weaves them, and if required, burns or presses functional and decorative elements.

Think the fabric is ready to be sent to the cutting shop? No, because we still have at least three technological processes ahead!

After the fabric has been woven, it should be washed to remove any remaining fibers and cut threads. For this, a special washing apparatus is used, through which the fabric is rolled.

Sports fabric is called sports fabric because it is specially designed for active sports. Its main features are moisture removal from the body and ventilation. Moisture wicking is due to a special impregnation, in RK Sport, we use a fabric impregnated with ClimaCool, this fabric perfectly manifests itself in business.

After impregnation, the fabric is ready for dyeing. The main activity of RK Sport is a sublimation, exclusive form, therefore most of the fabric in our warehouse is white.

There are three types of fabrics on the market: natural, synthetic, blended (a mixture of natural and synthetic threads). These fabrics differ in structure, density and functional characteristics.

Let's dwell on the four main fabrics used for sewing sportswear.

  1. False mesh.

Engineered mesh is the most popular fabric used in the manufacture of athletic uniforms. Fully synthetic, made of polyester. Due to the technological features, it is easily sublimated (the fabric is dyed through with special paper. It is highly wear-resistant, the application does not fade or wash out. Specially created for athletes, the fabric removes moisture and provides optimal ventilation of the body. To improve the athletic properties of the product, the fabric is treated with a special impregnation ...

In addition, this fabric is hypoallergenic, which makes it undoubtedly suitable for children.

We use different density false mesh for football, hockey, basketball and volleyball uniforms.

  1. Elastic

Elastic, better known in the vastness of Russia as Adidas, is a dense elastic fabric, smooth on the outside, but reminiscent of fleece from the inside. The fabric is also suitable for sublimation. The fabric retains heat, which makes it suitable for use in the autumn-spring period. The company RK Sport produces from such fabric.

  1. Duspo

Lightweight "windproof" fabric, polyester composition. Formal tracksuits and shorts are made of such fabric. Such fabric is sometimes sometimes called "rustling", although a high-quality Duspo does not rustle.

It happens with and without impregnation. For comfortable wear, the products always come with a lining.

  1. Footer
    The only natural fabric on our list. The footer is 100% cotton, although sometimes suppliers have a polyester outer layer. There are two types of footer - "two-thread", ie, a fabric woven from two threads, and "three-thread", woven from three threads. The two-strand fabric is thinner, with a soft fleece-like lining, the two-strand fabric is thicker and denser, making it suitable for use in the cold season.
    Natural fabrics are unsuitable for sublimation, therefore, the pattern is applied in three ways - embroidery on fabrics, embroidery on overhead products (stripes, chevrons) and silk-screen printing. Our recommendation is embroidery on fabric, this application will not lose its presentation and will not interfere with use.
