The simplest model that the kid will make with his own hands. But its simplicity is ingenious, because it is the rings of the chain that are so convenient to hang toys.

Cut the colored paper into strips.
Glue the edges of the first strip together to form a ring. This is the link in the chain.

Light bulbs

Light bulbs can be made flat, like in the version with snowflakes, or more voluminous, like a garland of rings.

For a flat garland, cut out the light bulb according to the template, paint over the base or use black tape instead, draw a spring as desired.

For bulk you need strips 1.5-2 cm wide, 20 cm long, and short strips 3 cm wide for the base.

And, of course, I immediately want to take a piece of the holiday home. If it's too early to put up the tree, then it's time to make paper garlands with your own hands. Connect the children and other family members, you are guaranteed a fun pastime, and the result is an interesting New Year's decor. Moreover, it is unique. So read on how to make New Year's garlands out of paper, turn on your imagination and bring it to life.

Materials for work

Most ideas can be realized by collecting scrap material around the house. Here's a basic list of things you'll need:

Colored paper of different weights. If you are fond of decoupage, then decoupage sheets are also an excellent help, you can use wrapping paper;
Cardboard;
Glue or glue gun;
Double-sided tape;
Stapler;
Scissors;
Rope, ribbons, twine;
Ruler or tape measure;
Simple pencil;
A printer.

Advice! If it is not possible to print a template, you can always display it on the computer screen in the desired size and redraw it by pressing the good old tracing paper to the monitor screen. Often this trick also works with a regular sheet of printing paper.

Garlands with fringes and tassels

Fringe

Fringe looks very advantageous, especially if you make several pendants from materials of different colors with your own hands.

For example, you can take a white and brown disposable tablecloth (or any medium-weight colored paper). Choose the color scheme at your discretion - red and white, red and green, etc. Three colors can be combined. Or take two subtle colors and complement them with shiny paper.

Fold a sheet of the desired length in half, cut 2/3 of the length. Then unfold, spread the middle with glue, insert twine or tape, press down, and then fold. Now the garland is ready!

Brushes

Tassels will be a great decoration not only for the New Year 2020, but also for any other home holiday.

The initial step is the same as for fringe. Fold the selected paper in half, cut the vertical strips 2/3 of the length.

Advice! Unlike fringes, brush strips are best made thinner.

We unfold our notched sheet. Now we have fringes at the top and bottom. We roll the sheet into a tube and roll it up with a tourniquet so that a loop is obtained on top, and a brush at the bottom. We make several of these brushes and string them on a rope.

In order for the brushes not to clump together, it is better to coat the loop with glue and glue them to the rope, on which they will then hang. The main thing is that you first need to make the number of brushes, distribute along the rope, and only then glue.

We will master the principle of fringe, you can easily make many original paper garlands with your own hands.

Garlands of stars

Asterisks are an integral part of the New Year's decor, which means that they must be used in decorating an apartment.

Convex stars

For this decoration you will need cardboard or thick colored paper. Next, you need to cut out the required number of stars and draw a fold line in the middle of each ray (see the template below). The main thing is only to mark the line, but not to damage or cut the star.

Advice! If you don't have a special tool, you can use a manicure spatula or orange stick.

Then fold along the fold lines, punch 2 holes in one of the beams with a hole punch and skip the rope. The decoration is ready. Looks advantageous both in a single color and in several colors.

If you don't have time to tinker with the bulge, then you can simply use the cutting template and make flat stars, string them on a string and enjoy the result.

Vertical pendants made of stars

New Year's decorations will look unusual if you do not just glue the stars, but sew them on a typewriter. To do this, you harvest a lot of stars from colored cardboard, and then sew with a thread that matches the color, it also serves as a connecting link, so we just leave a thread between the stars. Remember to leave long enough ends on both sides.

Garlands can be placed vertically on a window or in a door opening, but they can also be hung horizontally on a wall.

Volumetric Christmas garlands

Decorations made of volumetric paper figures will look airy and snowy.

To make one volumetric star, you need to cut four blanks according to the template. Then, using glue or double-sided tape, stick one star in the center of the other and slightly bend the edges of the inner star. Make two such blanks. Then glue together the flat parts of the stars, having previously passed the thread for hanging. You can place 3-5 stars on one thread.

Clouds are made in the same way. And then place all the threads with the shapes on one rope and look for a worthy place in the room.

Bunnies and Christmas trees

Since childhood, on New Year's Eve, we have been singing a song about a Christmas tree. And if there is a Christmas tree, then where can we go without bunnies? They can also be used as New Year's decor.

Bunnies

Use a cutting template and make blanks. Glue cotton ponytails to the bunnies, or you can make real pompoms from threads. Secure with a satin ribbon or string.

Even the smallest ones can glue the tails, even if the tail ends up somewhere in the ear area.

Christmas tree garlands

Perhaps the tree is the most "promoted" New Year's symbol, so there are a lot of options that you can make with your own hands.

The easiest way is to take three squares of the same size, fold in half, and then connect the resulting triangles together. If you sew the Christmas trees on a typewriter, you get a nice pendant.

The original Christmas tree will come out if you fold the triangle in half and make cuts, as shown in the diagrams.

Also a great option is to cut, make a hole at the top and string on a lace. The Christmas tree pendant will look different depending on the color and texture.

If there is a figured hole punch, then making Christmas trees will be easier and faster.

old burnt out light bulbs;

Manufacturing process:

Having chosen a pear-shaped or other shape of a light bulb in your house to create a garland, the surface of each must first be treated with ordinary alcohol using a cotton pad.

When our processed product dries up, we proceed to its New Year's decoration. For this, you can use whatever your heart desires. For us, it will be decor in the form of multi-colored sequins, gold stars, and of small decorative mosaics that look like broken pieces of glass. Having looked at the above photo, we repeat the creation of patterns. Hot glue is required to attach small jewelry. It will quickly and reliably fix your chosen transformation elements.
After completing this "design" work to translate your ideas with your own hands, you will need to arrange the metal base of the lamp. We take a satin ribbon and, gently greasing it with hot glue, wind it tightly on the selected surface. To work you will need:

multi-colored threads;
inflated round balloons;
PVA glue;
colorless varnish;
cream;
needle;
wide container for adhesive solution;
decorative elements: sequins, sequins, snowflakes, satin ribbon bows and more;
old mechanical garland with light bulbs.

Work process:

We prepare balloons with a diameter of 5 - 7 cm.
After that, we lubricate each ball separately with a small amount of cream so that its surface becomes slippery and does not allow the wound thread to stick later.
We need to pour the glue from a tube into a shallow, wide container.
We take a skein of the threads you have chosen and, passing them through the glue base, we immediately wind them on the surface of the balloon. The density of the yarn on our product should be similar to that shown in the photo we presented earlier.
When it seemed to you that there was enough thread in the balloon, cut the thread with a small margin so that you can hang the creation to dry. The hardened surfaces of the thread balls indicate that it is time to remove the air base from each decorative product. To do this, we take a needle and simply - simply pierce our elastic material with it.

Paper chain

The paper chain is the simplest and most common Christmas garland. Such decoration will be a wonderful decoration for the New Year holidays. Even a small child can make it.

A4 paper (color or white);
Scissors;
Stapler.

Progress:

Cut an equilateral square out of paper. Fold it into an isosceles triangle.
Make cuts from the middle with a length of 1.5-2 cm. leaving about 1 cm from the opposite edge.
Expand the square. Staple the corners of the small square resulting from the cuts.
Flip over and do the same with the next size square. Thus, fasten all the corners, alternating sides.
Fasten the resulting petals together in the middle and on the edge to make a snowflake.
Use a stapler to connect the snowflakes at two points to each other, you get a garland of volumetric snowflakes.

Option 1. To create you will need:

Scissors;
Colored paper;
Threads;
Glue.

The most difficult thing in making such a garland is the creation of the balls themselves. In order not to spoil the sheets of colored paper, you can practice on a regular newspaper.

Cut two blanks from colored paper. They consist of 2 reeds.
Start braiding with 4 pull tabs, creating a ball shape.
At the end of the ball, the tabs are attached with glue. Cut off excess.
After a sufficient number of balls are ready, string them on a thread.
The result is a colorful and original garland that will decorate a room or a Christmas tree.

Option 2. It is necessary to prepare:

Colored paper (preferably bright)
Scissors;
Glass;
Pencil;
Threads;
Sewing machine.

Progress:

On colored paper, outlining a glass, draw circles (future elements of the garland);
Cut carefully.
You can take 6 circles or more for one ball. Fold in the color combination you like best.
On a sewing machine, sew a pile in the middle of the circle. At the end of the circle, without interrupting the line, continue sewing the elements.
Upon completion, fold each circle in half. You will get a lot of volumetric balls firmly connected with a thread.

To make the flowers look more realistic, cut the tips of the petals at an angle of 45 degrees.
When all the flowers are ready, slightly bending their base wire, give them the desired shape and wrap them with a light green ribbon.
Cut out the leaves from green paper and attach them to the base. We collect flowers in a single composition and decorate it with a gift box with cookies or sweets. Additionally, you can use ribbons or beads for decoration.
