To begin with, the workpiece needs to be processed: "sanded" with fine sandpaper. It is necessary to remove all irregularities, roughness, to bring the surfaces to an even, smooth state. Remove all sawdust with a soft cloth and cover the workpiece with acrylic primer.

It is better to apply not one, but two or three layers: this way the picture will be brighter. After the primer has dried, sand the workpiece again to a perfectly smooth finish.

You can print the desired drawing on a color printer, only in this case the paper will have to be subjected to special processing - to remove the extra layers, leaving the top one with the drawing.

The necessary motives are pulled out of a napkin, a decoupage card (not cut out!). In this case, the lower layers must be removed from the napkin, leaving only the uppermost one. It will be very thin, so work must be done carefully.

Decoupage of a tea house for beginners is more convenient to do using the so-called "file" method. To do this, prepare PVA glue, a stationery file or a medium-density cellophane bag. Apply a thin layer of glue to the surface of the workpiece, apply the torn fragments, making up the desired composition from them.


The teahouse has right angles, so decorate the sides one at a time. After applying a napkin, cover it with plastic on top and gently, from the middle of the fragment to the corners, smooth it out to expel all the air. If necessary, you can once again go over the top of the napkin with a brush and glue to glue all the edges.

1. Let's prime the outer sides of the workpiece "Mr. Carving ”, art .: VD-264 with a thin layer of acrylic primer“ Love2Art ”, art .: APW-230 using the sponge“ Mr. Painter ”, art .: SPB-20. dry it for an hour or speed up the process with a hair dryer.


2. Sand the primed surfaces with the To-Do emery sponge, art .: 90963. Remove the dust with the soft side of the sponge.


3. We will rip out motifs suitable in size for decorating the walls and roof of a teahouse from the “Love2Art” rice decoupage card, art .: KPR.


4. Glue the motives on the side walls of the house. For reliable adhesion, first apply the “Love2Art” decoupage glue-varnish, ref .: DVGP-110 to the surface of the workpiece and apply the motif. Then, moving with the "Kinotti" brush from the center to the edges, carefully glue it.


5. Glue two small motives on the roof slopes. Dry the workpieces.


6. On the front and back walls of the house we will paint vertical stripes with gray and white acrylic paint "Love2Art", art .: ACP-60. The Kinotti flat synthetic brush, ref. 50112-20, is the most convenient tool for this kind of work.


7. Paint the steering wheel on the front wall of the house with white acrylic paint.


8. Mix together two similar tones of acrylic paint: gray and cold blue. Paint the slopes on the roof with the resulting color.


9. Use black paint to stroke the edges of the roof bevels. To do this, put on the corner of the beveled synthetic brush "Mr. Painter", art .: SBA, a little black paint "Love2Art", art .: ACP-60. First, we will brush over a sheet of paper, achieving a smooth distribution of the paint. Then, placing the brush from the outer corner, draw a straight line along the cornice. You should get a smooth gradient. Dry the workpiece with a hairdryer.


10. Repeat the outline along the curly cuts using the white acrylic outline "Love2art". Let us dry the workpiece without using a hair dryer, since the hot air can blur the contour.


11. We repeat the same technique on the walls of the house, moving along the strips. This will make them more voluminous.


12. Using the "Mr. Painter" foam brush, ref .: SPB-20 paint free space on the side walls. To do this, mix the blue-gray tones of acrylic paint directly on the workpiece. Let's dry the workpiece.


13. Using the Micron glue gun, ref .: DGL, glue the "Mr. Painter" chipboard - compass, ref .: CHI-9 to the back wall of the teahouse.


14. The contours of the steering wheel and compass are outlined with highly diluted black acrylic paint.



15. Separate oval blank “Mr. Carving ”, art .: VD-008 we will paint with gray and white acrylic paints. Just like on the roof slopes, outline its edges with black acrylic paint, achieving a smooth gradient.


16. Glue the house in the center of the oval panel. This will create additional space for decor. The Micron glue gun, ref .: DGL will provide excellent grip.


17. Plywood blanks "Mr. Carving ", art .: VD-320 in the form of bricks, tinted with diluted black acrylic paint.


18. Glue them in the lower part along the perimeter of the house, imitating masonry.

20. Cut a piece of mesh tape 25-30 centimeters long. Paint it with white acrylic primer using a foam brush. Dry the tape with a hairdryer.

After drying, the house is covered with acrylic varnish. If necessary, you can add some details with paints or trace the outline of the napkin drawing.

The last stage of work on the facade of the house is varnishing. Two or three coats should be applied, allowing each to dry. To create it, you need to apply a relief paste and highlight every detail. Then apply the paint and, after drying, cover it with varnish.

House made of cardboard

If you want to try creating a house from scratch, you can make it yourself out of cardboard. To do this, you will need:

  • cardboard and scissors;
  • pencil with ruler;
  • napkins with pictures;
  • acrylic paints;
  • PVA glue;
  • varnish and thick paper;
  • eggshell;
  • twine and brush.

To create a cardboard structure, you will need to cut 2 square pieces for the base and roof and 4 pieces for the walls, in one of which a hole is made in the shape of a semicircle to dispense tea bags. All parts are glued together with glue and paper.

Before starting work with our house, it must be treated with white acrylic primer. Our workpiece was already sold primed, so all we had to do was sand it thoroughly with sandpaper to remove excess soil and level the surface. When decorating the product, we will use an interesting technique - surface aging with a “dry brush”. To do this, you need to create a lower contrast layer: we paint our future teahouse with brown paint.

After drying, we go through with a fine sandpaper again. We apply blue paint, slightly diluted with water. An important point: we apply the paint with a dry brush, carefully stretching, rubbing it over the surface.

The paint dries quickly, so we additionally rub it with a hard sponge, leveling out the strokes. We'll go over it again with fine sandpaper, making slight abrasions. We will "implant" the printed black-and-white drawings into the surface "face in varnish". We cover the place where our drawing will be with acrylic varnish. We also varnish the front side of the printout and glue the printout.

We strongly press the drawing to the workpiece, smooth it out, drive out all air bubbles, glue it. For reliability, it can be rolled with a rubber roller. After drying, the pattern from the printout will be "transferred" into the varnish in a mirror image. To develop the picture, it is necessary to soak the paper with water: moisten the kitchen sponge with warm water and soak the picture with it. After the paper is soaked, gently roll up the top white layer until the black-and-white pattern appears. It is necessary to roll the paper very gently away from the center so as not to damage the drawing.

Allow to dry. Do this manipulation several times: wet-roll-dry until all the remnants of the paper roll off (no whitish traces remain). Dry. For an additional effect of "aging", we will use burnt umber. To be able to correct possible oversights and unsightly umber stains, before applying we cover the house with one protective layer of matte acrylic varnish. On all the edges of the house, we very carefully go over with a sponge with applied umber. After the umber has dried, cover with several layers (3-4) of matt varnish with intermediate drying. Usually, the whole drying process takes 3-4 hours; ordinary money gum will help to press the adhesive tape around the perimeter.
