Choosing the perfect wife. How to correctly understand the verse: "Pure women are meant for pure men"? Good for the good, bad for the bad

Question:

Please explain to us the verse of the Qur'an that says good women are for good men and bad women are for bad men. We know that everything said in the Quran is true, but we see many married couples where a good woman can live with a bad man or a bad man with a good wife. How is this to be understood correctly?

Answer:

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakyatukh!

Your question refers to the following verse of the Qur'an:

“Unclean women are (destined) for unclean men, and unclean men for unclean women. Pure women are (intended) for pure men, and pure men for pure women " (24, 26).

In this verse, Allah speaks of a common bond and attraction between people of the same nature. A person with high morality will be inclined to get closer to people of the same level of morality, and a person who is unclean and morally spoiled will look for a person of the same nature (1).

This verse was revealed at the time when a famous event happened with Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), the wife of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), who was unjustly accused of adultery. In this verse, Allah speaks of her purity and chastity and cleans her of the false accusation of immorality. It also speaks of the purity of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), that he, being pure, will have only a pure spouse.

Mufti Shafi Usmani, rahimahullah, explains this verse in his work Maariful Kuran as follows:

This verse says that since the messengers of Allah (peace be upon them all) are examples of purity and chastity, they are given spouses in accordance with their level and status. Therefore, since the last Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was the most perfect example of purity and morality, he was gifted with spouses of the most perfect morals. Thus, there is no room for doubt about the morality of any of his wives. So how can you doubt the purity of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her)? (2)

It should also be remembered that all the actions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were directed by Allah Himself through revelation. So it is impossible for him to make a mistake and choose an immoral wife.

However, this does not apply to all people (3). A person can be pure and chaste and believe that his life partner has the same qualities, but he can be wrong. This does not necessarily mean the opposite - that a pure man is prone to an unclean woman (and vice versa).

In other words, a decent and chaste person should be careful in choosing a life partner, and even if someone seems to him to be clean and decent, you need to check this and not trust only your feelings.

And Allah knows best.

Allah Almighty says:

“Bad women are for bad men, bad men are for bad women, and good women are for good men, and good men are for good women. They have no part in what they (the slanderers) say. Forgiveness and a generous portion are destined for them ”(24:26)

This is a verse from Surah An-Nur (Light), which was revealed in Medina in 5 or 6 AH, after the campaign against Bani al-Mustalik. The mother of the Faithful Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), who accompanied the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) on this campaign, was slandered, but Allah fully justified her and showed her innocence.

Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir titled the interpretation of this verse as "The virtue of Aisha, because she was married to the best of men." He (may Allah have mercy on him) writes: "Bad women are for bad men, and bad men are for bad women, and good women are for good men, and good men are for good women."

Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Bad words are for bad people, and bad people are for bad words; good words are for good people, and good people are for good words. This was revealed concerning Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) and the slanderers. "

This opinion was also transmitted from Mujahid, 'Ata, Said ibn Jubair, al-Sha'bi, al-Hasan bin Abu al-Hasan al-Basri, Habib bin Abi Sabit and ad-Dahhak. Ibn Jarir also favored this opinion.

He interpreted this to mean that bad words are more suitable for bad people, and good words - for good people. What the hypocrites attributed to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) is more suitable for themselves. Aisha befits innocence and non-involvement in their affairs.

Allah says: "They have nothing to do with what they (the slanderers) say".

Abdurahman bin Zeid bin Aslam said: "Bad women are for bad men, bad men are for bad women, and good women are for good men, and good men are for good women."

This also applies to what they said. Allah would not have made Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) the wife of His Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) if she were not pious, because the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) is the best of people. If she were bad, then she would not be a suitable wife for the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) neither according to the law of Allah, nor according to His Predestination.

Allah says: "They have nothing to do with what they (the slanderers) say."

This means that they are far from what their enemies and detractors say.

"They are destined for forgiveness" because of the lies that were spread about them.

"And a generous lot" from Allah in the Gardens of Eden.

This is the promise to Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that she will be the wife of the Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in Paradise.

See Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Surah An-Nur.

Sheikh Abdurrahman al-Saadi said: “Depraved men and women, as well as depraved words and deeds are always inherent in each other. They are worthy of each other, are tied to each other and look alike. Respectable men and women, as well as good words and deeds, are also inherent in each other. They are also worthy of each other, are tied to each other and look alike.

The meaning of this provision is the broadest, and it has no exceptions. And the most striking confirmation of his justice are God's prophets, and especially the courageous messengers, the most outstanding of which is the lord of all messengers, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). He is the best of men, and therefore only the best and righteous women could be his wives.

As for the accusations of Aisha's infidelity, in fact they were directed against the Prophet Muhammad himself (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), because this is what the hypocrites wanted.

However, she was the wife of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and this alone indicates that she was a pure woman and had nothing to do with such a vicious act. And how could it be otherwise if Aisha was the most worthy, knowledgeable and righteous woman ?! She was the beloved messenger of the Lord of the Worlds. And even a divine revelation was sent down to him when he was under her veil, although the rest of the wives of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) were not awarded such an honor.

Then Allah finally clarified this issue and did not leave the slightest opportunity to refute the truth or doubt it. The Almighty told that the righteous are not involved in what the slanderers are raising against them. And these words first of all refer to Aisha, and then to all believing women who are far from sin and do not even think about it. Forgiveness of sins and a generous heavenly reward from the Magnanimous Lord are prepared for them. " See Tafsir al-Saadi, p. 533.

This is the sura that We sent down and made the law. We sent down clear signs in her so that you can remember the edification.

An adulteress and an adulterer - whip each of them a hundred times. Let not pity for them overwhelm you for the sake of the religion of Allah, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. And let a group of believers be witnesses of their punishment.

An adulterer only marries an adulteress or a polytheist, and an adulteress is only married to an adulterer or a polytheist. Believers are prohibited from doing this.

Those who accuse chaste women and do not bring four witnesses, whip eighty times and never accept their testimonies, for they are wicked,

Illallazina taboo mimba'-di zalik wa aslahu; Fainna-LLaha Gafurur-Rahim

except those of them who afterwards repented and began to act righteously. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Uallazina yarmuna azuazhahum wa lam yakul-lahum shuhada-u illa anfusukhum fa-shahadatu ahadikhim arba-u shahadatim-bi-Lahi innahu laminas-sadikin

And the testimony of each of those who accuse their wives of adultery, having no witnesses but themselves, should be four testimonies by Allah that he is telling the truth,

Wal-khamisatu anna la'nata-LLakhi 'alaihi in-kana minal-kazibin

and fifth, that the curse of Allah will fall on him if he lies.

Wa yadra-u 'ankhal-'az aba an-tash-khada arba-a shaha-datim-bi-LLahi innahu la-minal-kazibin

Punishment will be turned away from her if she brings four testimonies from Allah that he is lying,

Wal-khamisata anna gada-ba-LLakhi 'alaiha incana minas-sadikin

and fifth, that the wrath of Allah will fall on her if he speaks the truth.

If it were not for the mercy and mercy of Allah towards you and if Allah was not the Accepting of repentance and Wise, then the liars would be punished soon.

Those who slandered the mother of the faithful, Aisha, are a group of you. Do not consider it bad for you. On the contrary, it is good for you. Each husband of them will receive the sin he has earned. And the one who took upon himself most of this is in for great torment.

Lau la iz sam'-tumuhu zannal-Mu-minuna wal-Mu-minatu bi-anfusikhim hairau-wa kalu haza ifkum-mubin

Why, when you heard this, believing men and women did not think good of themselves and say: "This is an obvious slander"?

Lau la zha-u ’alaihi bi-arba-’ati shukhada? Fa-iz lam yatu bish-shuha-da-i fa-ulaika 'inda-lahi humul-kazibun

Why didn't they bring four witnesses to confirm this? If they did not bring witnesses, then they are liars before Allah.

If it were not for the mercy and mercy of Allah towards you in this world and in the Hereafter, then great torments would have touched you for your lengthy speeches.

From talakkaunahu bi-alsinati-kum wa takuluna biafuahikum-ma laysa lakum-bihi ’ilmuu-wa tahsabuna-hu haiyinau-wa huua’ inda-LLahi ’azym

You spread lies with your tongues and speak with your lips what you have no knowledge of, and think that this act is insignificant, although before Allah it is a great sin.

Wa lau la from sam'-tumuhu kultum-ma yakunu lana an-natakallam bi-haza; Subhanaka khaza bukhtanun 'azym

Why, when you heard this, did you not say: "It is not proper for us to say such things. You are pure! And this is a great slander"?

Ya-’izukumu-LLahu an-ta’udu li-mislikhi abadan in-kuntum-Mu-minin

Allah instructs you never to repeat this if you are a believer.

Wa yu-bayinu-LLahu lakumul-Ayat; wa-lahu 'alimun hakim

Allah makes clear the signs for you. Allah is Knowing, Wise.

Truly, those who love that abomination be spread about the believers are destined for painful suffering in this world and in the Hereafter. Allah knows and you do not know.

Wa lau la fadlu-LLahi 'alaykum wa rahmatuhu wa anna-LLaha Ra-ufur-Rahim

If it were not for the mercy and mercy of Allah to you and if Allah was not Compassionate and Merciful, then the sinners would be punished soon.

O you who have believed! Don't follow in the footsteps of Satan. And if someone follows in the footsteps of Satan, then he is calling to the abomination and reprehensible. And if it were not for the mercy and mercy of Allah to you, then none of you would ever be purified. However, Allah purifies whomever He wills. Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

Wa la ya-tali uul-fadli minkum uassa-’ati ay-yu-tu uulil-kurba wal-masa-kina wal-Muhazhirina fi Sa-bili-LLah; wal-ya'fu wal yas-fahu. Ala tuhibbuna ay-yagfira-LLahu lakum? Wa-LLahu Gafurur-Rahim

Let those who have dignity and prosperity among you do not swear that they will not help relatives, the poor and the displaced people in the path of Allah. May they forgive and be condescending. Don't you want Allah to forgive you? Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

Innalaz-ina yarmunal-muhsanatil-hafilatil-Muminati lu-'inu fiddunya wal-Akhirah; wa lahum 'azabun' azym

Indeed, those who accuse chaste believing women who do not even think about sin will be cursed in this world and in the Hereafter! Great torment awaits them

on the day when their tongues, hands and feet will testify against them for what they have done.

Yauma iziy-yuuaffihimu-LLahu dinahumul-hakka wa ya'-lamuna anna-LLaha Huual-Hakkul-Mubin

On that day, Allah will reward them in full according to their true account, and they will know that Allah is the Explicit Truth.

Al-khabisatu lil-khabisina wal-khabisuna lil-khabisat; uat-tayyibatu littayyibina; uat-tayyibuna littayyibat; ula-ika mu-barra-una mimma yaku-lun; lahum-magfi-ratuu-wa rizkun karim

Bad women are for bad men, bad men are for bad women, and good women are for good men, and good men are for good women. They have no part in what they (the slanderers) say. They are destined for forgiveness and a generous portion.

O you who have believed! Do not enter other people's houses until you ask permission and greet their inhabitants with peace. This is best for you. Perhaps you will remember the edification.

Fa-illam tajidu fiha ahadan fala tadhuluha hatta yuzana lakum; wa in-kila lakumur-zhi-u farzhi-u huua azka lakum; wa-lahu bima ta'-maluna 'alim

If you do not find anyone in them, then do not enter until you are allowed. If they tell you: "Go away!" - then go away. It will be cleaner for you. Indeed, Allah knows what you are doing.

Laysa 'alaykum junahun an tadhulu buyutan gaira maskunatin-fiha mata-'ullakum; wa-lahu ya'-lamu ma tubduna wa ma taktu-mun

It is not a sin on you if you enter non-residential (not owned by a specific person) houses that you can use without permission. Allah knows what you discover and what you hide.

Kul-lil-Mu-minina yaguddu min absarhim wa yahfazu furujahum; zalika azka la-hum; inna-llaha habirum-bima yasna-'un

Tell believing men to lower their gaze and protect their genitals. It will be cleaner for them. Indeed, Allah knows what they are doing.

Tell believing women to lower their gaze and protect their genitals. Let them not display their embellishments, except those that are visible, and let them cover the cutout on the chest with their veils and show their beauty to no one but their husbands, or their fathers, or their mother-in-law, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands. , or their brothers, or the sons of their brothers, or the sons of their sisters, or their women, or slaves who were possessed by their hands, or servants from among the men deprived of lust, or children who did not comprehend the nakedness of women; and let them not knock with their feet to let them know of the adornments they hide. O believers! Turn to Allah with repentance all together - maybe you will succeed.

Wa ankihul-ayama minkum uassalihina min 'ibadikum wa ima-ikum; iy-yakunu fukara-a yugnihumu-LLahu min-fadlich; wa-llahu wasi'un 'alim

Combine in marriage those of you who are single and the righteous from among your slaves and slaves. If they are poor, then Allah will enrich them out of His mercy. Allah is All-inclusive, Knowing.

Let those who do not find an opportunity to marry observe celibacy until Allah enriches them out of His mercy. If the slaves who have taken possession of your right hands want to receive a letter on the amount of the ransom, then give them such a letter if you found good qualities in them, and give them from the property of Allah, which He gave you. Do not force your slaves to fornication for the sake of gaining the perishable benefits of worldly life, if they wish to observe chastity. If someone forces them to do this, then Allah after forcing them will be Forgiving, Merciful.

Wa lakad anzalna ilaikum ayatim-mubayyinatiu-wa masalam-minallazina halau min-kablikum wa ma'izatal-lil-Muttakin

We have already sent down to you clear signs, and a parable about those who have passed before you, and an edification for those who fear God.

Yahdi-LLahu li-Nurihi may-yasa; wa yadribu-LLahul-amsala linnas; wa-llahu bikulli shai-in 'alim

Allah is the Light of heaven and earth. Its light in the soul of the believer is like a niche in which there is a lamp. The lamp is enclosed in glass, and the glass is like a pearl star. It is ignited by a blessed olive tree that stretches neither east nor west. Its oil is ready to glow even without contact with fire. One light on top of the other! Allah directs whom He wills to His light. Allah gives people parables, and Allah knows about all things.

Fi buyutin azina-LLahu an-turfa'a wa yuzkara fihas-muhu yusabbihu lahu fiha bilguduuui wal-asal

In the houses that Allah has allowed to be erected, His name is remembered. He is praised in them in the morning and before sunset

men who are not distracted by trade or sale from remembering Allah, performing namaz and paying zakat. They are afraid of the day when hearts and eyes will turn

Liyajziyya-humu-LLahu ahsana ma'amil wa yazidahum-min-fadlikh; wa-lahu yarzuku may-yasha-u bigayri hisab

so that Allah will reward them for the best that they have done (or better than what they have done; or the best for what they have done), and multiply it according to His mercy. Allah endows whomever He wills, without any count.

And the deeds of unbelievers are like a haze in the desert, which a thirsty person takes for water. When he approaches him, he finds nothing. He finds Allah near him, who rewards him in full according to his account. Allah is swift in calculation.

Or they are like darkness in the depths of the sea. It is covered by a wave, above which there is another wave, above which there is a cloud. One darkness on top of another! If he stretches out his hand, he will not see it. To whom Allah has not given light, there will be no light.

Alam tara anna-LLaha yusabbihu lahu manfissama-uati wal-ardy wattayru saffat? Kullun-kad 'alima salatahu wa tasbihah. Wa-LLahu 'alimumbima yaf'alun

Have you not seen that Allah is praised by those in heaven and on earth, as well as birds with outstretched wings? Everyone knows his prayer and his praise. Allah knows what they are doing.

Wali-LLahi mulkus-samauati wal-ard! Wa ila-LLahil-masyr

Allah has dominion over the heavens and the earth, and Allah is to come.

Can't you see that Allah drives the clouds, then connects them, then turns them into a heap of clouds, and you see the rain pouring down from its crevices. He casts down hail from the mountains that are in the sky. He strikes with it whoever he wishes, and turns him away from whom he wishes. The glint of their lightning is ready to take away the sight.

Yukallibu-LLahul-layla uannahar; inna fi zalika la'ibratally-ulil-absar

Allah alternates day and night. Truly, this is the edification for those who have sight.

Wa-LLahu halaka kulla dabbatim-mim-ma; faminkhum-may-yamshi 'ala batnih; wa minhum-may-yamshi 'ala ryzhline; wa minkhum-may-yamshi 'ala arba'. Yahluku-LLahu ma yasa; inna-llaha 'ala kulli shai-in kadir

Allah created all living things out of water. Among them there are those who crawl on their belly, those who walk on two legs, and those who walk on four. Allah does what He wills. Indeed, Allah is capable of all things.

Lakad Anzalna Ayatim-mubayyinat; wa-Lahu yahdi may-yashau ila Syratym-Mus-so

We have already sent down clear signs, and Allah guides whomever He wills on the straight path.

Wa yakuluna amanna bi-Lahi wa bir-Rasuli wa ata'-na sum yataualla fari-kum-minhum-mim-ba'-di zalik; wa ma ula-ika bil-mu-minin

They (the hypocrites) say: "We have believed in Allah and the Messenger and we obey." But after that some of them turn away, and they are not believers.

Wa iza du'u ila-Lahi wa Rasulikhi li-yahkuma baynahum iza farikum-mi-nhummu'-ridun

When they are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge them, some of them turn away.

Wa iy-yakul-lahumul-hakku ya-tu ilayhi muz'inin

If they were right, they would obediently appear before him.

Afi kulubikhim-m-aradun amirtabu am yahafuna ay-yahifa-LLahu 'alayhim wa Rasuluh? Ball ula-ika humuz-zalimun

Are their hearts afflicted? Or do they doubt? Or do they fear that Allah and His Messenger will condemn them unjustly? Oh no! They themselves are doing the wrong thing!

Innam kana kaulal-Mu-minina iza du-u ila-LLahi wa Rasulikhi liyakhkuma baynahkum ay-yaku-lu Sami'-na wa ata'-na; wa ula-ika humul-mufli-hun

When believers are called to Allah and His Messenger to judge them, they say: "We listen and obey!" They are the ones who are successful.

Wa may-yuty-'i-LLaha wa Rasulahu wa yahsha-LLaha wa yattakhi fa-ula-ika humul-Fa-izun

Those who obey Allah and His Messenger, fear Allah and profess God-fearing have found success.

Wa aksamu bi-LLahi jahda aimanihim la-in amartahum layahruzhunn. Kul la tuximu; ta-atum-ma'-ru-fah; inna-llaha habirum-bima-ta'-malun

They (the hypocrites) take the greatest oaths in the name of Allah that if you ordered them, they would certainly go on a campaign. Say: "Do not swear! Such obedience is well known. Indeed, Allah knows what you are doing."

Say: "Obey Allah and obey the Messenger." If you turn away, then he is responsible for what is entrusted to him, and you are responsible for what is entrusted to you. But if you obey him, you will follow the straight path. Only the clear transmission of revelation is entrusted to the Messenger.

Wa man kafara ba'-da zalika fa-ula-ika hu-mulfasikun

Allah has promised those of you who believe and do righteous deeds that He will certainly make them governors on earth, just as He made those who came before them as governors. He will certainly endow them with the opportunity to practice their religion, which He approved for them, and replace their fear with safety. They worship Me and do not associate partners with Me. Those who then refuse to believe are wicked.

Ya-ayyuhallazina ama-nu liyasta-zinkumullazina malakat aymanukum uallazina lam yablugul-huluma minkum salasa marrat; min-kabli Salatil-fazhri wa hina tada-’una siyabakum-minaz-zahirati wa mim-ba’-di sa-latil-’isha; salasu 'auratil lacum; Laysa 'alaykum wa la' alaihim junahum-ba'-dahunn; tauuafuna 'alai-kum ba'-dukum' ala ba'd; kazalika yubayyinu-LLahu la-cumul-Ayat; wa-lahu 'alimun hakim

O you who have believed! Let the slaves who have taken possession of your hands, and those who have not reached puberty, ask your permission to enter the chambers on three occasions: before dawn prayer, when you take off your clothes at noon, and after evening prayer. Here are three times of nudity for you. There is no sin on you or them for entering without permission, apart from these cases, because you are visiting each other. This is how Allah clarifies the signs to you. Allah is Knowing, Wise.

It will not be a sin for the blind, it will not be a sin for the lame, it will not be a sin for the sick person and for yourself, if you eat in your homes, or in the homes of your fathers, or in the homes of your mothers, or in the homes of your brothers, or in in the houses of your sisters, or in the homes of your paternal uncles, or in the homes of your paternal aunts, or in the homes of your maternal uncles, or in the homes of your maternal aunts, or in those houses whose keys are in your possession, or in the house your friend. It will not be a sin for you if you eat together or separately. When you enter the houses, then greet yourself (each other) with a greeting from Allah, blessed, good. Thus Allah clarifies the signs for you - perhaps you will understand.

Believers are only those who believe in Allah and His Messenger. When they are with him on a common cause, they do not leave until they ask him for permission. Indeed, those who ask your permission are indeed believers in Allah and His Messenger. If they ask you for permission regarding some of their affairs, then allow whoever you wish and ask Allah to forgive them. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

Wa-LLahu bikulli shai-in 'alim

Indeed, to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and on earth. He knows your position and the day they will be returned to Him. He will tell them what they have done. Allah is aware of all things.

"Good for good ..."

Guys who say and shout that there are no decent girls to marry? I swear by Allah Almighty, they are and there are many of them!

Just brother, Allah hid them from you, you cannot see them, because they are for worthy brothers, and not for those like you who write to all the girls, get to know one, see the other, show sympathy for the third, and so on. And you will not see them, brother, until you become worthy yourself and correspond to a true Muslim!

Girls who say and shout that there are no decent guys, men, who can you marry and build a family? I swear by the Almighty Allah, the Creator of heaven and earth, they exist and there are a lot of them!

You just don't see them, sister, because you don't correspond to a true pure chaste Muslim woman, you sit on the Internet for days, exposing your beauties to other people's men, so that they evaluate you, comment on you, and you rejoice reading all this, but you yourself are deeply you're wrong, none of these guys consider you as wife and bride. In their eyes, you are just a toy with whom you can play with, and like a doll that annoys, mind you sister, it was not the guys who appreciated you as a doll, it was you who appreciated yourself! You yourself hung the label on yourself !!

And you think a worthy Muslim brother will marry you ?! Who will not cheat on you, but will be faithful, not because you are such a miss beauty, but because he is afraid of his Creator! And in order to achieve such a brother, you must strive for the satisfaction of Allah, and not engage in window dressing, to expose yourself as a product for display.

Do you see a decent guy whom you would like to marry? It's not about him, it's about you sister! And you, brother, cannot find a worthy girl to marry? It's the same with you, brother! There are many worthy brothers and sisters, just Almighty Allah is Just and Merciful, because
