A gentle facial scrub at home. What Are Soft Facial Scrubs And What Are The Features Of Using Them Soft Skin DIY Face Scrub

What effect does a face scrub have? How often can you scrub your face? How can you make a scrub at home? We will cover these and other popular questions about home care in this article.

Skin renewal is a natural process. To prevent old cells from clogging pores and making your complexion look dull, you need to exfoliate them. A face scrub is a product that removes dead skin particles. Thanks to it, the skin becomes smooth, soft and radiant.

How does a scrub differ from a peeling? Mechanical peeling is a product that contains small abrasive particles (often of artificial origin). A face scrub, on the other hand, consists of fairly large particles (for example, coffee grounds, salt, or crushed nut seeds). That is, most often the scrubbing particles of the scrub have an uneven texture. If facial peeling can be used even for problem skin, then the scrub is not recommended if there are inflammations on the face. Otherwise, there is a risk of spreading the infection to the skin and only aggravating the situation.

Contraindications to use

Home scrubs are not recommended for use in the following cases:

  • If you have acne on your face;
  • With rosacea (if the capillaries are located close to the skin);
  • If there are wounds on the face;
  • With dermatitis;
  • For sensitive skin and very dry skin;
  • In the event that you are allergic to the components of the scrub.

How often should you use the scrub?

To avoid injuring your skin, use scrubs in moderation. Applying it once a week is more than enough to remove dead skin cells and leave your skin looking radiant. Below are recipes for scrubs that can help fight dull complexions and give the skin the desired softness and smoothness.

Top 5 homemade scrubs

These scrubs have a simple recipe and are prepared from what is always at hand. Nevertheless, these "penny" beauty recipes are sometimes no less effective than expensive store products.

Sea salt is rich in iodine, bromine, phosphorus and sulfur, which enhance the skin's protective properties and have a regenerating effect. It also contains iron, sodium and magnesium, which cleanse the skin of toxins. Sea salt scrubs effectively cleanse pores and normalize the skin's fat balance.

What do you need?

  1. 1 teaspoon sea salt
  2. 1 egg white.

Recipe:

Grind the sea salt into dust. Mix it with egg white. Using gentle massaging movements, spread the mixture over your face. Wash it off thoroughly with warm water after use.

The effect:

Salt deeply cleanses the skin, while protein prevents oily sheen.

Coffee beans contain caffeine, which tones the skin and increases its resistance to environmental influences. Antioxidants and polyphenols make the skin elastic, rejuvenate and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Carotenoids help promote a healthy complexion, and chlorogenic acid neutralizes the harmful effects of UV rays.

What do you need?

  1. 1 teaspoon finely ground coffee beans.
  2. 1 teaspoon of oily sour cream (for dry skin) or natural yogurt (for all other skin types).

Recipe:

Combine coffee and base oil and apply the mixture to your face. Leave it on the skin for 15 minutes and then massage the skin with gentle circular movements. Rinse off with warm water.

The effect:

The coffee scrub deeply cleanses the skin and improves blood circulation. It has a slight anti-aging effect and gives the face a radiance. Sour cream or yogurt included in its composition moisturize the skin and relieve flaking.

Sugar face scrub

Granulated sugar is a great homemade scrub ingredient. He contains:

  • glycolic acid (helps to synthesize collagen);
  • tensins (these proteins give elasticity to the skin);
  • monosaccharide dihydroxyacetone (improves complexion);
  • monosaccharide rhamnose (helps to smooth out fine wrinkles).

Sugar scrub is good for skin prone to inflammation. It prevents the appearance of inflammatory elements on the face.

What do you need?

  1. 1 tablespoon banana puree
  2. 1 tablespoon apple puree
  3. 1 honey tea boat;
  4. 1 tablespoon of fine sugar;
  5. 1 teaspoon cream

Recipe:

Toss the banana and applesauce. Add honey there. If you are using candied or hard honey, preheat it in a water bath at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees. If honey is heated more, then all its beneficial properties are lost.

Pour sugar into the mixture. It must be finely ground. Of course, on contact with water, it will dissolve. But even short-term exposure to the sharp edges of the coarse sugar can injure the skin.

Pour in the cream. Mix thoroughly. Apply the resulting scrub to your face and massage the skin with it for a while. Leave the composition for a short time if desired. Then rinse off the product with water.

The effect:

Sugar scrub effectively cleanses the skin, including oily and problematic ones. Banana and applesauce contain vitamins C and E, natural antioxidants that neutralize the effects of free radicals. Also, fruit puree improves complexion, gives the skin a fresh and rested look.

Natural honey is a storehouse of vitamins and microelements. Honey scrub promotes faster skin renewal, prevents dehydration, tightens the skin and has an antiseptic effect.

Homemade Soda Scrub

Soda is a favorite ingredient in home scrubs for those with problem skin. Soda tightens the pores and effectively cleanses them of impurities, normalizes the skin-fat balance.

What do you need?

  1. 1 teaspoon sea salt
  2. 0.5 teaspoon of baking soda;
  3. 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  4. 1 tablespoon honey.

Recipe:

Stir the bulk ingredients together. Add lemon juice and honey, then stir until smooth. Apply the homemade scrub to your face and massage gently. Movements should be soft and careful so as not to injure the skin. Then rinse off the mixture with warm water and pat dry the skin.

The effect:

Soda-salt scrub effectively exfoliates the skin. Honey makes the skin smooth and elastic. Lemon juice refreshes and mattes.

Oatmeal scrub

Ground oatmeal is a gentle yet effective scrubbing ingredient. Oatmeal leaves skin matte, smooth and firm. This scrub is suitable even for sensitive and irritated skin.

What do you need?

  1. 2 tablespoons of ground rolled oats;
  2. 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon powder
  3. 1 teaspoon of baking soda

Recipe:

Mix the ingredients and pour a little water over them (until the consistency of thick sour cream). Apply to face and massage a little. Leave the scrub mask for 15 minutes, then rinse off the face in a circular motion.

The effect:

Oatmeal scrub mask is a super treatment for oily skin. The combination of oatmeal, cinnamon and baking soda helps to regenerate the skin, increase its tone, smooth it, reduce inflammation and eliminate oily sheen.

How to apply scrubs

When scrubbing on your face, avoid the area around the eyes and around the lips. Apply the product to the massage lines - the lines of least stretch on the skin. Dispense the scrub:

  • from the center of the forehead to the periphery;
  • from the bridge of the nose to the tip of the nose;
  • from nose to temples;
  • from the chin to the ears.

Step 3

Then lift both bowls into a pot of water, I don't want to put the bowls directly on the bath base, so I used two small metal tart jars. In hindsight, one larger tin will probably be better (if you have the right size), but make sure your bowls are steady and stable anyway when the water is boiling.

Stir oils and wax slowly until melted. If you are using a preservative, make sure the temperature of the water / glycerin / preservative mixture does not exceed the recommended level, usually around 65 ° C (see product instructions).

Conclusion

A moisturizing homemade face mask is a great way to relieve stress and heal your skin before it is well-earned, so today I will show you how to mix the perfect homemade glowing skin mask in no time.

A delicate, gentle face scrub is a cosmetic product for the gentle removal of the stratum corneum of the epidermis cells.

Action and efficiency

Delicate cleaning is carried out regularly to:

  • remove dead epidermal scales, which make the surface of the face rough, impede the free access of oxygen and nutrients;
  • "Start" the process of cell renewal. Mechanical removal of dead particles is a kind of stress for the body, which activates young cells;
  • stimulate blood microcirculation: thanks to massage movements, blood flow is accelerated, and this has a good effect on the general condition of the skin;
  • tone up the skin. The elasticity will improve, the color and texture of the skin will even out.

Having thin, dry or too sensitive skin to external or mechanical influences, you need to be especially careful to select cleansing agents (scrubs).

Scrubs for oily to normal skin use larger, harsher abrasives(coarse sea salt, ground apricot pits).

Ingredients included in the composition

A sign of a delicate (soft) scrub is the complete absence of aggressively cleansing particles.

They are replaced by more gentle components:

On an industrial scale, the issue of gentle cleansing has been approached more globally. Special particles are added to factory scrubs:

  • wax beads are very small beads made from wax. They are streamlined, soft, elastic to the touch;
  • gel granules - identical to wax balls, but made from a different hypoallergenic material.

The basis of a factory-made soft scrub should be cream. It does not dry out the skin, retains moisture, and maintains water balance.

Cooking at home: proven recipes

Homemade cleansers differ from factory counterparts in a completely natural composition, a large number of useful substances.

After all, a home scrub is prepared immediately before use, therefore it retains all the vitamins and minerals that it nourishes the skin.

A factory counterparts contain artificial elements.

  • Chop two parts of oatmeal and one part of corn flakes, mix, add cream until gruel forms. Pour a teaspoon of granulated sugar and a little olive oil into the resulting mixture. You should get a mass that does not spread on the face, but lays down in an even layer;
  • Mix one part of crushed dry citrus peels (orange, lemon, tangerine or grapefruit), two parts of cottage cheese and a little milk until smooth. Apply to face, lightly, just massage the entire surface with your fingertips and rinse with cool water;
  • one part of almonds, ground into flour, mix with one chicken or quail egg, add a teaspoon of honey to make a thick gruel. Apply in a gentle circular motion to face and neck;
  • mash one part of a ripe avocado in mashed potatoes, add one part of a fresh cucumber, passed through the finest grater. Pour in a tablespoon of sugar, add a little honey and olive oil. The resulting mass should be thick. Spread evenly over the face with light massage movements;
  • prepare the grape puree. To do this, you need to peel the berries, remove the seeds, and thoroughly knead the remaining mass without removing the juice. Gradually add oatmeal to the puree until gruel is formed. The resulting mass is applied to the face with light massage movements;
  • Mix the remaining after brewing (the finest grinding) with olive oil. Apply to the skin of the face with very gentle, light massaging movements;
  • mix oatmeal with warm olive oil until a gruel is formed, apply on the face with circular massage movements, massage very easily for 5 minutes, then rinse with warm water;
  • Mix one part of oatmeal with one part of sour cream, add 1 wedge of lemon juice and wait until the flakes swell and become soft. Apply the resulting mass to the face with light massaging movements.

Dry and sensitive skin needs moisturizing after exfoliation. Therefore, after removing the scrub, you need to apply a moisturizer to your face.
