Original crocheted children's blanket “Shark” from Bernat. Sharks Crocheted shark toy

The New Year is approaching very quickly this year. Or is it I who have slowed down too much, and time is rushing by like a locomotive?
I can’t write enough, so I suggest you just look at the photos! Moreover, the post will be sweet mi-mi-mi
I needed to come up with a gift for this wonderful bead. It’s very difficult to come up with gifts when they tell you that you have everything and don’t need anything. And even in the presence of a miracle, in the form of a expressed wish, I could no longer stop inventing it. And Olga, who is “terribly contagious,” saved me once again. She tells everything so interestingly and shows that it’s almost impossible not to be tempted into another adventure (especially with my parrot-monkey nature)
And in the end I came up with the idea to connect the toy using the wonderful MK with YAM. (I’ll tell you about the very first experimental one below)
And the first in the story will be Cook's hedgehog. The description says about Grass yarn. But Tanya and I, walking around the thread store, noticed Rabbit yarn! Its fibers are much thinner, more delicate and slightly longer than grass fibers. I thought this yarn was perfect for a hedgehog. And I didn’t even have to look for it, Olga delivered it straight to my work with an electric broom
The newly purchased crochet hook Clover practically knitted the velor yarn himself. I really enjoyed the process until it was this Rabbit's turn. Knitting fancy threads is generally a separate perversion, only thick knitting needles make the process not so terrifying. And a hook for them is some kind of disaster. Nothing is visible, nothing is clear, how to count the loops, where to insert the hook?

I just couldn’t force myself to knit my head. I knit a row - I rest, I knit another - I rest again. In the very first row, when switching from non-shaggy yarn to shaggy yarn, I lost 10 loops. And in general, it turned out that I started at the wrong end of the thread. The fibers have a clear direction, and if you knit against the grain, the process is very difficult, i.e. much heavier than the other way around. I had to dissolve it, find the other end and start again. By the way, 10 loops were never found and I decided that it was fate. I had to constantly blow on these thinnest hairs so that they would at least behave decently and not fluff out, but deviate from me to the side. The blowing made me feel somehow strange, either I went into a trance, or I fell into a frenzy. But I still didn’t fully understand what would happen when the head narrowed at the top, when I needed to constantly reduce these fluffy loops! She poked the hook somewhere, not even at random, but just in case, because she had to poke somewhere. And filling this furry bag with a hole was also fun.
Fortunately for me, the hedgehog’s body is not trained and small, and he bonded quickly! Arms, legs, paws were not difficult at all. For the eyes I had to go to Leonardo. A terribly pompous, cool, huge and indecently expensive store! And the eyes were only of two sizes - small and very small. And because of my eyes and my fear of putting everything together, my poor child was sitting on a chair in a dismembered state.

And when I imagine that I need to sew together two furry parts, from which nothing is visible except the furry ones, I’m just taken aback. There’s a date on the photo (I always forget to remove it), and I don’t remember on what day I took it. , it may well be that I was in a state of confusion for two weeks, but yesterday I finally sewed it! If it had not been intended as a gift, I would not have been able to finish it. For me, it’s just a little bit of overcoming, very, very little compared to the real trials of life. I wasn’t lying when I wrote that I was constantly thinking about you
In MK his name is Kuka, if Ulechka renames him, then he will have two names!

Here we lie

Here for scale

They say he's cute. I can no longer understand whether it worked or not, my eyes are blurry. I only hope that he will bring his new owner, my distant friend, at least a little bit of my warmth and will remind me of us, but let him remind him of anything! At least he’ll smile, maybe I’ll be happy!

But what an exclusive first animal I got, and quite quickly! In MK he was the Squeaky kitten. I lost my mohair at that time, I couldn’t find it, I still haven’t found it to this day. Therefore, I decided to try this velor yarn, which was difficult for Olya to obtain. I knitted it almost perfectly, only the hook was from my childhood, and it was almost terrible. Because of him, the knitting process was very slow, and I wanted to give the kitten to Tanya. But I didn’t have time to finish it before she left. Okay, I decided to myself, I’ll give her another one next year, and I’ll finish this one and give it to Natasha for another bead. But in the end I decided not to give this miracle to anyone; it will live with me as a reminder of my own stupidity!
I'm a very specific person. If it says “knit as tight as possible, and with a crochet much thinner than that recommended on the yarn label,” then that’s exactly how I knit, so that the loops can only be found by hanging the knitting on the nose. If it says “stuff it tightly with padding polyester,” then that’s exactly how I’ll stuff it! I’ll hit it so hard that you can throw it at the wall and it will bounce off! And everything would have been fine if the shape of this kitten’s head hadn’t changed from my stuffing, and if the same stuffing hadn’t doubled the size of his antlers. And the head also had to be tightened after stuffing. And the needle, although long, is beaded, thin and flexible. Wherever it came out of me, I can’t really pull it off, there’s so much padding polyester that it almost doesn’t bend. Having completed my sufferer by the morning, I took a photo and sent it to the author of MK for “evaluation and advice.” Svetlana is a very tactful person, she didn’t write that he was a freak, but very carefully said that he looked more like a puppy, but that means it’s his choice and let him live like that.

This miracle completely refused to stand, agreeing only to lie down and sit, pretending to be a howling wolf.

Standing only with outside help

After Svetlana’s hint, I tried to transform him into a cat, attaching a mustache to him, sewing his head further to his back, and taught him to stand. No miracle happened

For scale

“If the doll turns out badly, I’ll call her a fool...” (c) Nothing like that! I couldn't do that to a child. Therefore, I identified the breed as a cat (a mix of a kitten and a puppy), and called him Plaxik! And what’s pink about him is his tongue, not his mouth, as some see
Well, I captured the company of brothers in misfortune (with such and such a mother!)

I really hope that the next dolls will be better.

Well, now I can show off my gifts for New Year’s Eve! Otherwise everyone is bragging, but I’m like, no gifts or what?
Olya gave us socks, not just ordinary ones, but practically gold ones! And while she was giving me gifts, they also managed to take a photo of us. "Big Brother never sleeps"! By the way, we are looking at the horse there (Olya showed him)

I knew that there would be socks for us; she had to ask for the size. I also joked once that “I’ll ask you for sharks!”, which I don’t remember where I saw. And when I took the sharks out of the bag, I was so stunned that I didn’t even show any delight, I just went numb and froze, instead of jumping and screaming. Olya, I’m ashamed, I repent! To say that I am delighted is to say nothing. I measured these sharks right at work and showed them to everyone. The deputy general director offered to take me straight into them to the bosses’ office so that I wouldn’t stain them, but in the end I took a photo to show my wife! My friend was delighted that it was knitted very finely with very thin knitting needles from fine yarn! About the evenness of the loops is a separate story. In my opinion, only a machine can knit so smoothly!
Olya always packs gifts very beautifully and sincerely, which I never manage to do.

First my son's sneakers

And now my sharks from all possible angles, because they are so, so, SO!

The stuck fish is attached with Velcro to any place!

Sharks not only have teeth, gills, eyes and nostrils, but also a drop of blood from my devoured legs!

And it wasn’t just some kind of worm that stuck, but a knitted fish that even had eyes!

If suddenly someone doesn’t have enough photos, then you can see more in my album on

Crochet shark socks.

The socks are knitted from two parts (white and blue) and sewn.

Let's start with the white belly of our fish. In finished form it looks like this:

Doesn't look like it, right?
I start with four chain stitches, adding one stitch on each side in each row. I knit the flares to the desired width of the insole.

Then we knit straight without increments until the beginning of the heel. Here's a blank:

And I begin to form the heel. I decrease on each side at the beginning and at the end of the row by knitting two loops together. Until there are only two loops left (or four, whichever is more convenient for you). Then I start adding two loops in a mirror image to the initial width. And I knit the height of the sock up. At the end I again make similar decreases and thus the mouth of the fish is formed.

This is the bottom folded so that it is clear where the heel is sewn.
These are not difficult actions.

Girls! You are so smart! Many people have already knitted halves of socks
Let's move on to blue. It's even easier

The beginning is like the white part. Also set, also added to the desired width. My halves are the same, that is, the width of the white one is the same as the width of the blue one.

So you knit to the desired length, at the end you form the head and sew the entire sock.
Take a closer look at the head to better understand the proportions of the white and blue parts:

To form the head, pick up air loops and connect them into a circle. I cast on 15 air loops

Then knit in the round. Three full circle rows. Divide the knitting into two parts and start knitting two together at the beginning and end of each part. Remember the mitten? This is the decrease. Until you close all the loops. The head is ready.

Today we have a selection of creative sharks.

A shark is not only a toy, but also a cake. Evgeniya lives in Paris and has been creating cakes according to her customers’ fantasies for several years. I have never seen such a hardworking cook before :) She has a huge number of cakes.

Igor Andronov from Kyiv creates unique forged items and jewelry according to the customer’s sketch.
"You can order jewelry made from different metals and in a variety of techniques with any stones - here you can even set a simple lollipop in a gold frame)))
Regarding the form, don’t be shy - ask - nothing is impossible... all that can hinder the production of the plan is a lack of time and money)))
Products are made here from scratch - this is not a Chinese trinkets store - the work is made from sketch to finished product by one craftsman and this takes time."

Craftsmen from Skazkodrom (Moscow) sewed a shark from the cartoon "Sea Brigade". If you need a toy - a cartoon character, a fairy tale, a comic book, contact them. They will develop a pattern, sew it and give you a pet.

Two meter shark:

New sleeping bag from designer Kendra Phillips. “It's a sleeping bag! It's a plush toy, IT'S A SHARK! In the process of making this shark, it became my favorite animal and I tried to make it more enjoyable. So I developed the ChumBuddy prototype. This seven foot plush monster is made entirely 100% by hand (sewing machines hate me). It consists almost entirely of wool and weighs only 30 lbs. polyester

Cross-stitched is cute and good-natured :) Shark for use in scrap or as applique/finishing, can be decorated as an independent picture in a nursery.

Shark 6x12 cm, fabric size 15.5 x 11.5 cm.

Irina Er from Moscow creates bags and toys from fabric. " I create things for those who love the romance of the city: trams, wet architecture, pigeons, newspapers, cafes, jazz festivals, squares, etc...."

A couple of weeks ago, a stranger out of the blue... asked me to sew a netbook case for him...

I show you the result. The given style is childish and colorful. It was mandatory to include a kind shark in the design.

And the kindest shark is the one that sleeps, of course.

Well, while she’s sleeping, the fish don’t have to be afraid and quickly swim about their business. Do you see how they all swam at once?

"Algae" - cotton fabric on non-woven fabric.

I decided not to use felt because the surface had to remain perfectly smooth.

Perevozchikova Natalya from Podolsk also creates textile bags and toys.
“My creative path goes under the motto From Boredom to All Trades (I do various types of handicrafts), that’s why my blog got this name. I have been doing handicrafts for a very long time, and I decided to open a store only recently, because I think that professionalism has reached that level , with whom you are not ashamed to go out in public)))."

Children are going to a friend's birthday party. The holiday will be celebrated in the style of "Underwater World". In this regard, I came up with this Shark costume. Since it’s hot outside, and the celebration is planned outside, we had to deviate a little from traditional carnival costumes, reducing the amount of clothing to a minimum. This minimum necessarily includes a cotton bucket hat with appliqués of four sharks, sewn according to the same pattern as previous, and a dorsal fin that fits like a backpack.

Veronica Repina from Gorny Altai works with wool. In addition to wool, silk, linen, cotton and much more are used to make things. She has a lot of felted hats, bags, and toys. Among them is the felt shark. her mouth closes with a zipper :)

Main stitch: RLS – single crochet

Description of work

Socks are knitted in the following order:

— sole (2 pcs.)

- upper part of the sock (2 pcs.)

- teeth

- eyes

— side fins (4 parts)

— upper fins (4 parts)

Sole.

Using black yarn, cast on 4 VPs and knit RLS, adding 1 stitch on each side in each row to a total of 18 stitches. Then knit in a straight line to the “beginning of the heel”, the total number of rows from the beginning of knitting is 18. Start in the next row decreases, similar to increases: i.e. knit 2 stitches each. at the beginning at the end of the row to the remaining 4 sts. Then, without breaking the thread, repeat the decreases as at the beginning of knitting until the total number of 16 sts and knit another 8 rows in a straight line, in the next row repeat the decreases in the same way until the remaining 4 sts. Thread cut off.

Knit the second sole in the same way.

Top part.

Using white yarn, cast on 4 VPs and knit RLS in the same way as the sole, adding 18 stitches to the total. Then knit in a straight line until the total number of rows from the beginning of knitting is 21. In the next row at the end of the row, cast on 15 VPs, join the knitting in a circle and knit 3 rows in a circle without decreasing. Next, decrease along the edges on both sides, knitting 2 sts. to the remaining 3-4 sts. A “muzzle” is formed, fasten the thread from the wrong side.

Assembly. Stage 1.

Sew heel seams. Sew side seams, connecting the sole and the top of the socks.

Teeth.

Using gray yarn, tie *3 ch, 3 dc in one center* along the edge of the “shark’s mouth.”

Eyes.

Using black yarn with a thin hook No. 2.5, cast on 4 VPs, close in a circle, break the thread. Using gray yarn, tie the formed RLS chain to the back half loop, knitting 2 RLS 2-3 times in one center.

Complete 4 parts.

Lateral fins.

Using white yarn, cast on 3 VPs and knit with additions in the same way as the sole to a total of 14 sts, knit with a relief pattern in the back half loop.

Complete 4 parts.

Upper fins.

Knit in the same way as the side fins, but use “vest” stitches without a crochet.

Knit 4 parts.

Assembly. Stage 2.

Sew on the eyes.

Sew 2 side fins per seam at the level of the connection between the vertical and horizontal parts of the sock.

Sew together 2 parts of the upper fins. Sew the double top fin in the middle of the top of the “head”.

The socks are ready.

Row 12: Attach yarn at right corner of jaw and sc evenly along edge of lower jaw. Cut the thread and hide the ends.

Teeth
Cut the felt strip in a zig-zag pattern, not cutting all the way to the bottom edge. Using white thread, sew the felt with the half-cut side to the bottom of the zipper so that the felt teeth slightly cover the zipper.
Using gray thread that matches the body, sew a zipper into the mouth hole. I can have my teeth looking down or up, it’s up to my personal discretion.

Eyes
Using black thread, sew eyes (or buttons) onto the body, as in the photo.

Upper fin
Row 1: Leaving a 15cm end, ch 6. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each. vp to the end. To turn. (5 sc)

Row 6: Ch 1, sc in top sc, then turning work clockwise, sc along three sides of triangle, knitting 2 sc in corners. Cut the thread and use a seamless connection first. sc row to complete. Sew onto the shark's back and hide the ends.

Side fins (2 pcs.)
Row 1: ch 2, sc in 2nd ch from hook. To turn. (1 sc)
Row 2: ch 1, 2 sc in 1 sc. To turn. (2 sc)
Row 3: ch 1, sc in next. sbn, 2 sbn in the last one. sc. To turn. (3 sc)

Row 5-9: ch 1, sc evenly to end of row. To turn. (4 sc)
Row 10: ch 1, sc evenly to the end of the row, 2 sc in the last row. sc, turn the work clockwise and continue tying the sc on all sides. Knit 2 sc in each corner. Cut the thread, leaving a 15 cm end, and sew on each side of the body.

Gill slits (dark gray, 6 pcs.)
Leaving a 10 cm end, work a chain of 6 ch. Cut the thread and finish. Sew three pieces on each of the two sides of the shark’s body, bending them slightly, as shown in the photo.
The author made the tail a little more rigid using a solution of PVA glue and water, but this is not necessary. You can make a fabric lining for a knitted pencil case (this is also at your discretion).
