Knitted children's vest with buttons. Stylish vest for girls with knitting needles. Knitting pattern for a children's vest with knitting needles for beginners.

Hello, my dear readers!

The topic of our meeting today is a knitted sleeveless vest for a child. By clicking on the name of the pattern, you will be taken to a page with its description.

I knitted this warm (thanks to the yarn and compressed pattern) sleeveless vest for my one-year-old granddaughter Sashenka, its SIZE is 80/86, so next winter he will still wear it (I hope).

By the way, knitted with the same knitting, which is loved by many.

To knit a sleeveless vest for a child I used:

  • 150 g (1.5 skein) of half-wool sectional yarn in gray melange color Super Excellence of the “MAGIC” trademark (100 grams - 228 m);
  • knitting needles No. 3 and No. 4;
  • stocking needles No. 3.

Now this yarn, in my opinion, is no longer produced, but if Alpaca Royal yarn from ALIZE (250 m/100 g) had caught my eye then, I would have taken it without hesitation (you can click on the link and get to know this yarn better ).

To finish the bottom of the sleeveless vest, armholes and neckline, I chose a garter stitch - it is most suitable for the “Large Cell” pattern, thanks to the removed loops of which the sleeveless vest turned out to be dense and warm, but not at all stiff.

Well, now let's proceed directly to the description.

How to knit a sleeveless vest for a baby

Knitting back

On knitting needles No. 3, cast on 62 loops and knit 5 rows, evenly adding 10 loops in the last row (72 loops on the knitting needles).

To do this, first close off 4 loops on both sides, then in every second row 1 time 2 loops 1 time 1 loop, on the knitting needles - 58 loops. Next, we continue knitting until the back length is 33 cm.

After this, to form the neckline, we close off the middle 18 loops, and then on both sides to round the neckline, we close off in every second row, first 3 loops, then 2, and then 1 loop (14 loops remain on the knitting needles for each shoulder).

We do not close the shoulder loops and move on to knitting the front part of the sleeveless vest.

Knitting front

Before we start knitting in the same way as the back, only in the “Large Cells” pattern after the 2nd row I started knitting from the 11th row, and not from the 3rd row, so that when making side seams the joining of the “pieces” of the cell would look prettier .

We perform the armhole as we did when knitting the back. 2 cm from the armhole line, we knit the 2 middle loops together and slip this loop onto a pin, after which we finish both sides of the V-neck separately.

At the same time, in every second row we will close off 1 loop from the inner edge until there are 14 loops left on the knitting needles. After that, we simply knit both sides to the height of the back. We also do not close the shoulder loops.

Connection between back and front

Fold the front and back of the sleeveless vest right side inward. On an additional knitting needle we re-slip, alternating one at a time, 14 back shoulder loops and 14 front shoulder loops, 28 loops on the knitting needle.

We close the shoulder loops, first knitting 2 loops together with the front one. We do the same with the loops of the second shoulder.

With this method of connecting the back and front, the shoulder lines are smooth and almost invisible.

Tying the neck of a sleeveless vest

Using stocking needles No. 3, we cast on 113 loops along the neckline (42 loops on the back side, 35 loops on the neckline, 1 loop on the pin) and begin knitting on the front side:

  • 1st round row -facial loops;
  • 2nd round row - purlwise, knitting along 2 loops purl together every other 5 loops and 3 loops together purl - in the toe of the V-neck;
  • 3rd round row - facial loops;
  • 4th round row - purl, as in the second round row;
  • 5th round row - facial loops;
  • 6th round row - purl by purling only 3 loops of the cape together;
  • in the 7th round row - close the remaining ones that are not tight 78 loops.

Tying the armholes of a sleeveless vest

Along the armhole of one sleeve, cast on 60 stitches and knit 6 rows in garter stitch, while knitting 2 stitches together in the front row 3 times in the 6th row (at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of the row) so that the garter stitch edging does not protrude so much .

In cold weather, parents always think about what kind of clothing could keep their child as warm as possible without hindering his movement. A knitted sleeveless vest in this case is the best solution! Knitted from high-quality threads, it will reliably retain heat and at the same time provide air circulation, protecting against overheating. In addition, knitting sleeveless vests for children is a very exciting and easy activity. You can choose the right model - for walking, for school or for sports. The appearance of the sleeveless vest is also very important, because children love beautiful things. We offer you several interesting options for sleeveless vests.

Then switch to needles No. 4.5 and knit, distributing the loops as follows: 1 edge loop (slip without knitting), 4 stitches in garter stitch, 42 (50) 56 loops in pearl pattern, 4 stitches in garter stitch, 1 edge loop ( knit purl).

Adhering to the given pattern, knit 17 (20) 23 cm from the cast-on edge.

To form armholes, (at a height of 17 (20) 23 cm) close 3 loops on both sides, in this case it is necessary to shift the pattern, extending the garter stitch by 3 loops to the middle of the product (on both sides of the vest). In each 2nd next row, decrease 1 loop 3 (5) 5 times, on both sides, in a special way, knitting together the loops of the pearl pattern and garter stitch. Namely: at the beginning of the front row, the last loop of the garter stitch together with the 1st loop of the pearl pattern with a slant to the left (slip 1 stitch, knit 1 knit stitch, and pull it through the removed loop), as well as knit the last loop of the pearl pattern together with 1 th stitch in garter stitch. After all the decreases, there should be 40 (44) 50 stitches left for the armholes.
After 26 (30) 34 cm from the cast-on edge, close off the middle 12 (12) 14 loops for the neck, and finish both sides separately. First, knit on 14 (16) 18 loops along the left edge, while closing and at the beginning of each next front row, close 1 time 4 loops and 1 time 2 loops.

After 28 (32) 36 cm from the cast-on edge, knit another 1.5 cm for the placket on the remaining 8 (10) 12 loops in garter stitch and bind off all the loops.

Next, knit on 14 (16) 18 loops along the right edge, at the beginning of each next purl row, close 1 more time with 4 loops and 1 time with 2 loops. After 28 (32) 36 cm from the initial row, bind off the remaining 8 (10) 12 shoulder loops.

BEFORE
On knitting needles No. 4, cast on 54 (62) 70 stitches and knit 5 rows in garter stitch, evenly adding 4 stitches in the last row.

Then switch to needles No. 4.5 and knit, distributing the loops as follows: 1 edge stitch, 4 stitches in garter stitch, 9 (13) 17 stitches in pearl pattern, 30 stitches in voluminous braid pattern, 9 (13) 17 p. pearl pattern, 4 p. garter stitch, 1 chrome p. = 58 (66) 74 loops.

After 17 (20) 23 cm from the cast-on edge, begin to form armholes, decreasing the loops, as on the back.

After 22 (26) 30 cm from the cast-on edge of the vest, close off the middle 14 (14) 16 loops for the neck and finish both sides separately.

First, knit on 16 (18) 21 loops along the left edge, and at the beginning of each next front row, close 1 time 4 loops, 1 time 2 (2) 3 loops and 2 times 1 loop.

After 28 (32) 36 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off the remaining 8 (10) 12 stitches of the shoulder. Then continue knitting 16 (18) 21 stitches along the right edge, at the beginning of each next purl row, close 1 more time with 4 loops, 1 time with 2 (2) 3 loops and 2 times with 1 loop.

At the same time, after 26.5 (30.5) 34.5 cm from the starting row, continue knitting for the placket in garter stitch. After knitting 2 more rows, evenly distributed, make 2 holes for buttons (= 2 sts, knit together, 1 yarn over). In the purl row, knit yarn overs. After 28 (32) 36 cm from the cast-on edge, bind off the remaining 8 (10) 12 shoulder loops.
