Pregnant but pulls on the lower abdomen. Drawing pains in the later stages. Abdominal pain associated with termination of pregnancy due to gene mutations

Many pregnant women at different times are faced with such a problem as pulling pains in the lower abdomen. Do not worry, because almost 100% such sensations are not dangerous either for you or for your unborn child. However, it is recommended that you still tell your gynecologist about this so that the specialist has the opportunity, if necessary, to provide you with the necessary assistance.

Causes of pain in the lower abdomen

During pregnancy, abdominal pain can occur for the following reasons:

  • problems in the digestive tract - in such cases, the described problem may be accompanied by such phenomena as constipation or dysbiosis;
  • inflammation of appendicitis or acute pancreatitis;
  • the presence of the candida fungus, which provokes thrush;
  • violation in the functioning of the genitourinary system - diseases of the kidneys, ovaries, bladder or uterus;
  • the development of an ectopic pregnancy;
  • onset of detachment of the placenta before delivery.

However, you have no cause for concern or an emergency visit to the doctor if:

  • during pregnancy, the lower abdomen does not pull constantly, but occasionally. If the pain can disappear when you are lying down or just relaxed;
  • there are no sharp and cramping pains, the sensations are pulling in nature;
  • pulling sensations are not accompanied by accompanying symptoms from the gastrointestinal tract or bloody discharge;
  • after using No-shpa or special suppositories that include papaverine, the sensations become less intense or completely disappear for a while;
  • sensations do not change their intensity upward, pain can be easily tolerated;
  • pulling pains in the lower abdomen are not accompanied by painful sensations during urination and defecation;
  • fluctuations in blood pressure and vomiting are not observed.

All of the above cases are not dangerous to the fetus, but they serve as a reason to see a doctor as insurance.

Pulling pains in the early stages

During such a period, such sensations may indicate an immediate pregnancy. Often, such pain is accompanied by a feeling of constant fatigue, headache, nausea and discomfort in the area of the mammary glands.

Often this problem arises during the enlargement of the uterus, the stretching of which can cause unpleasant pain in the lower abdomen.

Pulling pains in the later stages

In this case, the problem is usually the stretching of the muscles and ligaments that support the uterus.

In addition, at a later date, the uterus begins to actively prepare for childbirth, which also causes discomfort. This can only indicate that pregnancy is at the last stage.

How to get rid of discomfort?

The solution to a problem largely depends on its cause. If pain occurs in the early stages due to the preparation of the body for bearing a child, then it is recommended to lie on the left side to relieve pain.

Avoid heavy physical and psychological stress. But moderate physical activity should not be forgotten either!

In case of problems with the gastrointestinal tract and constipation, it is necessary to establish a normal diet, lead a healthy lifestyle and drink enough fluids.

There are symptoms, hints and clues that can indicate to a woman a probable pregnancy. They can appear individually or in several ways at once. And if you suspect or do not exclude that conception could have occurred, then you will certainly recognize some of the signals given by your body. However, they should not be taken as a "diagnosis" because many are very similar to the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome in women.

Of course, if the next menstruation is delayed, and you observe several early signs of pregnancy at once, then the probability of its occurrence is very high. However, we often begin to make assumptions even before the delay in menstruation. And if you have a reason to expect pregnancy, then, most likely, you will feel the earliest sign of pregnancy: pulling the lower abdomen.

This can indeed be observed from an early date.

Why does the lower abdomen pull at the beginning of pregnancy?

Let's imagine that the egg meets the desired sperm and together they form a zygote. The zygote will now be propelled by the fallopian tubes to reach the uterus and anchor on its wall for further growth and development. The path to the future home takes on average 6-12 days (these periods may differ for different women). Most often, fertilization occurs during ovulation, which falls approximately on the 10-12th day of the cycle (options are also possible here). Thus, it turns out that the fertilized egg reaches the uterus at the end of the cycle, when there are several days before the next expected period. And in most cases, a woman feels a pulling pain in the lower abdomen - either because of the impending menstruation, or because of the "housewarming" of the egg. This is an abbreviated approximate ideal scenario of what is happening.

To "put down roots" in the uterine cavity, the egg prepares a place for itself: it, as it were, scrapes out the epithelial cells, making a nest in it for planting. This process is called implantation and may be accompanied by some signs that even now, even before the onset of menstruation, the woman will be prompted about the conception that has taken place. We are talking mainly about pulling pains in the lower abdomen: your uterus is experiencing the invasion of a "foreign body" and a violation of the integrity of the epithelium. It is likely that in the process of attaching the egg to the wall of the uterus, small spotting bleeding may occur, which a woman often mistakenly perceives as a premature onset of menstruation.

So, a few days before the start of the next cycle, with an already completed conception, a woman may feel a pulling pain in the lower abdomen, which is often accompanied by minor bleeding (cream, pink, reddish or brown). If she is unaware that she has become pregnant, then, most likely, she will perceive this phenomenon as premenstrual syndrome. Moreover, many other signs of pregnancy in the very early stages are also similar to the sensations before menstruation: soreness and increased sensitivity of the nipples, irritability, nausea, rejection of certain odors, changes in appetite and mood swings.

That is why it is very difficult to recognize pregnancy before a delay. Moreover, a pulling abdominal pain in a woman can have many other reasons: stress, taking hormonal drugs, infection, inflammation, trauma, a consequence of sexual intercourse or gynecological examination, and others.

However, pulling pain in the lower abdomen can be a sign of not only pregnancy, but also the threat of its termination. A fertilized egg is a foreign body in a woman's body, from which the uterus tries to get rid of, starting to contract. Nature has created a natural mechanism for maintaining pregnancy in the early stages - the immune functions of the female body are somewhat reduced, giving the future fetus a chance to gain a foothold and survive. But the victory does not always remain with the egg, which can be hindered by a number of unfavorable factors. If she is expelled at the earliest possible date, then the woman may not even know that a miscarriage has occurred - she just starts another menstruation.

If the pregnancy is already several weeks old, and you know about its existence or the likelihood of this is very high, and the pulling pains in the lower abdomen have a pronounced cramping character, are given to the lumbar region or, then you need to urgently go to the hospital to maintain the pregnancy.
