Assembling the elements

When all the details are cut, they start assembling the future bag.

The first thing to do is to outline the places of future seams. If sewing is carried out by hand, then a compass or a special wheel is used for marking.   • sew the side parts, sew on the rings for the handles;
  • sew corners, turn out;
  • arrange the lining, sew it inside;
  • process the top edge of the product and attach handles.

19. Now I sew the bottom of the bag.

20. In order for the bag to be stable at the bottom, to have a shape and not to fall through, I will sew a solid bottom. I cut out a rectangle with sides 36 * 12 from haberdashery cardboard, which I then put in a fabric cover.

Instead of haberdashery cardboard, you can use isolon or energoflex, which is sold in hardware stores.

21. I sew the cover along the perimeter, leaving one edge unsewn. I cut the corners, as in the photo.

22. I put the cardboard in the case, sew up the free end by hand.

23. I lay the hard bottom on the bottom of the bag, attach it to the bottom seam in the middle with several stitches to fix it.

24. I start sewing the straps. I cut out a rectangle 82 * 4 cm. I fold the edges inward and sweep by hand.
