If there is a red thread running along the edge of the fabric, you have purchased an original. The pockets and joints of the jeans are reinforced with rivets. It is ideal if the rivets on the jeans are in the crosshairs of the seams, but this is not always the case, even with branded jeans. Beveled seams and crooked stitches, asymmetric pockets are inadmissible. As a rule, the lettering on the rivets matches the label.

When choosing jeans, you need to pay attention to how the seams are finished inside. They must be well stitched so that the fabric does not creep and not a single thread can be pulled out. These seams are called "overlock seams" or "overlooking fabrics". With them, other seams last longer.

The jeans have double seams for durability. At the same time, the seams create stripes on the inside and outside of the leg for a slimmer look. Levis put double stitches on the inside and single stitches on the outside, Wranglers put double stitches on the outside. In doing so, they made the fabric darker and the threads brighter.

Typically, real American jeans have a thick leather "label" on the belt (Lee or Levi's) or pocket (Wrangler). The brand name in a reduced form should be repeated in the fabric version on the pocket. For fakes, as a rule, the "label" is made of fabric or leatherette.

The label of “native” jeans often has a “chewed” texture, but at the same time it is carefully stitched along the entire perimeter. The print on the cardboard label of real jeans is bright and won't rub off when rubbed. "Real" manufacturers spare no time and money to make the labels attractive, as they say, pleasing to the eye. Therefore, labels on branded jeans have different shapes, high-quality printing is used, and not some kind of photocopy - this can be seen immediately. Let's say you choose Lee jeans, then all tags, labels, rivets must correspond to this name, in addition, somewhere inside there must be information about their care.

The belt loops ensure that jeans with a belt will fit well on any waist. Usually, 7 belt loops are made on men's jeans, and 5 on women's jeans.

The inner tag of real American jeans must carry all the information about the product: care method, size, European code, consisting of ten, not five digits.

The main indicator of the originality of jeans is the fittings - "zippers", rivets, buttons. They contain information about the manufacturer. On branded jeans, only fittings with the designation YKK (and no TIT, MKK, TLF and the like) are put or their own, if one is produced. Only a branded item has a zipper on the "dog", on the back of rivets and buttons, you can clearly read the name of the company or trade mark. The "dog" itself must have a double lock and not slip, even if the zipper is not fully closed. For example: “L. S. & Co-S. F. ". Which means: "Firm Levi Strauss & Co, model San Francisco." You can check the "brand" of jeans after the fact - after washing. Non-branded jeans can stretch, warp due to the fact that in the process of cutting it was decided to save somewhere.
