Armchair for dolls with their own hands made of cardboard. How to make a chair for a Barbie doll. Making a real chair step by step

As promised, today I will tell you, readers, how to make a chair for a doll.
My doll is made in such a way that it was necessary to seat it, so I had to come up with furniture. If you want to make such a polymer clay doll, then see.

To make a chair for a doll, you will need a penoplex, a glue gun, fabric, braid, beads, toothpicks, a ruler, a pencil, a knife, a synthetic winterizer, a needle and threads according to the color of the fabric.

Sequence of work

First, we make a sketch of furniture and paper templates. For the doll, it is necessary to calculate the dimensions of the chair so that it does not turn out big or small.

We measure the doll and draw a template on cardboard. We cut out the details according to the template from the foam.

We try on, chipping the parts with toothpicks. If necessary, cut with a knife, align.
We prepare a suitable fabric and cut out the details according to the templates, making allowances for the seams of at least 1.5 cm.
First we make out the back. We apply a synthetic winterizer and glue it along the edge. We apply the fabric from above, trying on its location. Glue on the ends. Then glue the back wall. We close the top of the back and the sides with a braid, which we sew by hand.

We attach the beads, stitching through the foam. The back is ready.

Let's move on to the seat. We glue the parts with a glue gun. We put a synthetic winterizer on top of the seat, glue it. We paste over with a cloth in any sequence, as you prefer. We process with braid along the upper edge.

We assemble a chair. Glue the seat to the back. The chair is ready and you can put the doll!

Here's a little more on how to make a foot pillow.

My interior doll has acquired a finished look.

Good luck in creating furniture for your doll!

If your child loves to play with dolls, this workshop is for you. Today we will make a soft and beautiful armchair for a doll with our own hands.

Kids always like to equip houses for their toys. In order not to spend money on furniture for, make it yourself. It's actually very simple. You can even involve your child in this process. Let them choose for themselves what color the fabric will be on the new throne of their “pupils”.

What will we need?

  • piece of cardboard box
  • foam rubber (or sponge for washing dishes)
  • beautiful upholstery fabric
  • PVA glue

How to make a chair?

First, let's decide on the size of the cardboard (and, accordingly, the chair itself). Estimate the size of the doll. If you are making for Barbie, it is enough to cut out a cardboard box measuring 21 * 12. At the same time, we immediately cut off the right and left upper squares, bend them in the shape of a chair.

From the parts cut off earlier, we will make a seat. We glue the lower part (on the inside, by the way, you can also glue it with double-sided tape), but we don’t attach it to the main part yet.

Now glue the sponge on the seat and back of the chair. Don't make them too thick.

Let's unfold our future doll chair for a while. We also wrap the armrests with a piece of sponge. Here it can be sewn or glued. Immediately wrap the back and the visible part under it with a beautiful fabric - we will glue them.

We return the lower part of the craft to its place, estimate the size of the upholstery. Now we paste over the handles of the future armchair.

Again, briefly unfold the upper part and cover all open parts with a cloth.

At the back we glue it haphazardly, then carefully mask it.

Every little girl loves to play with dolls. But to make the game more interesting, for them you need to purchase or make your own doll furniture. Cabinets, tables, chairs, chests of drawers - all this will help to equip a real house for your daughter's pet and make it cozy. From this article you will learn about several original ways to make a chair for dolls with your own hands.

Clothespin armchair

In order to make a cozy rocking chair for Barbie doll, you will need the following materials:

  • 12 wooden clothespins.
  • PVA glue (can be replaced with any other).

Now you can proceed to the manufacture of a puppet piece of furniture:

  1. Disassemble the clothespins, getting rid of the metal parts.
  2. Arm yourself with the prepared glue and glue 8 halves so that the details look like a fan - this element will be the back of the rocking chair.
  3. The other 8 halves must be glued evenly to make a rectangle - this is the seat.
  4. Let's move on to the sides. Now you need to take the two halves of clothespins and glue them together with a house. Then, at the top of this “house”, glue another half of the clothespin with the rounded side up, and at the base with the same side down.
  5. Make the second sidewall in the same way.
  6. Glue all the parts of the chair together.

Wicker chair

You will need the following materials to work:

  • Cardboard.
  • Needle.
  • Wire.
  • Twine (can be replaced with regular yarn).
  • Sponge for washing dishes.

  • Cut out the back of a chair from a piece of cardboard.
  • Run along the edge of the hole using a needle.
  • Arm yourself with pieces of wire, insert them into the holes, before folding them in half.
  • Using twine or yarn, weave the top.
  • When everything is ready, secure the thread by bending the wire.
  • Weave the bottom, also securing it with wire to the end.

Important! Make sure the chair does not wobble.

  • Weave a twine or wool braid of the same color and close the curved wire with it to decorate it.
  • Make them the same wire chair legs.
  • Arm yourself with a thin piece of a dishwasher sponge, sheathe or glue it with a fabric of a suitable color and put it on a wicker chair.

Important! Similarly, you can make a table, bench and other pieces of furniture for dolls.

Armchair made of sponges for washing dishes

In order to make such a soft and cute piece of furniture for dolls, you need to prepare the following items:

  • PVA glue (can be replaced with any other high-quality glue).
  • Fabric of different colors (two will be enough).
  • Cardboard.
  • Buttons.
  • Thread, needle.
  • Ribbon, lace or braid for trim.
  • Foam rubber or ordinary kitchen sponges.

Now you can proceed to the manufacture of the chair. So, for further work, you must follow these steps:

  • Draw drawings of a doll chair - you can find them on the Internet or make them yourself.

Important! The following parts should be available: back, base, two sidewalls and front.

  • Cut these details out of cardboard or hardboard.
  • Start gluing the parts with stuffing. First you need to glue the base and back.
  • Glue the back of the chair with the prepared fabric. On the reverse side of the part, it is necessary to make holes with an awl, and then sew the prepared buttons to the upholstery - they should be the same.
  • Glue the base of the chair with the same fabric.
  • The front part and armrests must also be pasted over with material, but in a different color.
  • Give the sidewalls the desired shape, glue them to the product.
  • Now the parts must be glued together and left to dry.

Important! The final product will dry in about 24 hours.

  • If desired, a small pillow can be made as a decor for the chair.

Round crochet chair

To make this piece of furniture, you will need basic crochet skills and some materials:

  • Hook - it is better to take at number 2.
  • Yarn in two different colors - lighter and darker. You can use both wool and wool mixture.

Important! It is desirable that the yarn is from the same manufacturer and that the two colors have the same thickness.

  • Thick cardboard.
  • Needle, thread.
  • Filler (you can use foam rubber, kitchen sponges or synthetic winterizer).

Now let's move on to the master class so that you can easily make a chair for a doll with your own hands:

  • The first step is to make the base. Our base is a circle. You can make it yourself from thick cardboard or take, for example, a circle from adhesive tape.
  • Now take a piece of cardboard and draw the prepared circle twice to make two identical circles.
  • Cut out these circles.
  • We glue the blank and two circles together so that the armchair has a bottom and a lid.
  • We knit an air chain of 6 loops of light yarn, tie them into a ring and knit 12 tbsp. b. n. In the second row there will already be 24 of them, in the third - an increase through the column, in the fourth - after 2 columns, in the fifth - after 3. As a result, a perfectly even woolen circle should be obtained.
  • We perform 2 air loops so that there is a rise, after which we knit the walls of the future armchair for the doll. For this purpose, it is no longer necessary to add loops, but it is necessary to capture the inner sides of the loops of the base circle.
  • We continue the work until your canvas is the same height as the blank.
  • We insert the cardboard blank inside.
  • We knit a woolen circle in the same pattern as before.
  • Using a needle and thread of a matching color, sew the part to the base.
  • Now you need to sew the back of the chair for the doll with your own hands. To do this, we collect 4 air loops of darker yarn, connect them into a ring, then tie them with eight single crochets. There should be 16 columns in the second row.
  • Now, as in the base of the armchair, we knit the columns without an increase, capturing the internal loops. We knit in a circle.

Important! As the part lengthens, it must be filled with filler.

What will be needed?

Scheme of a soft ottoman

To make a bean bag for a child, you will need to purchase the following materials:

  • two types of fabric for covers;
  • zippers;
  • filler.

As a rule, home-made children's furniture is made bright and colorful, because this is the option that the baby will like. It is also important that the chairs are in harmony with the interior of the room. As for the material itself, it is important that it can withstand active children's fun. You can use leatherette, furniture or upholstery fabric. You can even take leather if you want.

The material for the inner cover should be light, breathable and smooth.

Some needlewomen have found a simple option - old unnecessary duvet covers. With regard to lightning, it is worth saying that it is undesirable to use metal ones, because a child can easily get hurt about them. They should match the color of the outer case.

Soft chair filler

Expanded polystyrene, or rather, balls from it, is perfect as a filler. They are light, soft, non-toxic and fill the inside of the bag well. Thus, sitting in a chair will be very comfortable.

Manufacturing instructions

Children's pouffe

How to sew a children's ottoman in the shape of a bag with your own hands?

Pouf patterns

The procedure is as follows:

  1. Make two patterns on paper: one for the inner cover, the other for the outer one.
  2. Lay out the templates on the material and secure with sewing pins, adding one and a half centimeters to the seams.
  3. Lay the shapes on top of each other and sweep them.
  4. Finish the edges with a zigzag stitch and sew the two pieces together.
  5. Fasten the zippers.
  6. Make a funnel out of paper and pour styrofoam balls through it.

It is better to immediately make two or three outer covers so that they can be changed for washing and updating the interior. Such a variety will surely be appreciated by your children.

Additional removable covers can be made

It is not necessary to sew a zipper on the inner cover. After filling the filler, you can simply sew up the hole. But the outer cover must have a clasp so that it can be removed.

The chair should not be filled too tightly. It is better to fill the balls somewhere at 70% of the volume. Then it will sit softly in it, while the pouf will take the shape of the body.

You can make a bag from a plain fabric and attach (sew / glue) a colorful appliqué of some kind of cartoon character on top. An armchair with a hanger (top handle) is easy to carry to other rooms or store if it is not needed now.

Furniture for dolls

Pouffe for dolls

If you want to make a doll chair, you can use simpler and cheaper materials. Suitable:

  • flaps, for example, terry cloth from an old towel;
  • cotton wool or synthetic winterizer.

A small chair for dolls is best made from four separate parts.

First you need to sew the sidewalls, attach the seat to them, and then the bottom.

Do not forget to turn the product inside out.

Cut and sew parts

Fill the bag with small pieces of padding polyester or cotton wool into the left hole until the desired shape is formed. Sew up the hole and the chair is ready!

Stuffing and shaping the chair

As you can see, making a bean bag chair with your own hands is not difficult at all.

Armchair for the doll is ready

It's not scary if it turns out not quite perfect in shape. After all, this is a distinctive feature of frameless furniture. In stores, such items are quite expensive, besides, it is not always possible to find the right option. Having done the work yourself, you will please your child and decorate the atmosphere in the house.

House is built. It does not matter at all whether it is big or small, made of brick or cardboard, Barbie or Snow White with the gnomes will live in it. In any case, he needs an interior, furniture and necessary accessories. In toy stores today you can buy everything. But as you know, the most fashionable things are exclusive, made in a single copy, handmade things. Therefore, we roll up our sleeves and begin work on making doll furniture with our own hands.

In the toy market, working miniature models of real human household items: cars, planes, clothes, etc. are most valued. The smaller the models, the harder they are to make. Let's try to create a similar exclusive piece of furniture.

To make doll upholstered furniture, you need to prepare:

  • thick cardboard 1-1.5 mm thick;
  • plain paper;
  • foam board (thickness 0.5 cm) or corrugated cardboard (thickness 0.3 cm);
  • a tube with a diameter of 1.5-2.5 cm from any material. You can use an old marker or a cardboard tube from under the threads;
  • fleece or thin foam rubber 0.3-0.8 cm thick;
  • upholstery fabric. It is better to choose chintz or staple, so that it is better saturated with glue;
  • PVA glue and "moment";
  • scissors, knife;
  • ruler, pencil.

Making a real chair step by step

  • Make drawings of parts on paper and cut them out.
  • Cut out the details of the chair according to the drawings. Glue four rectangles of foam board or six of corrugated cardboard together. This will be the base of the chair, the seat. Then glue the back and front of the chair, cut out of thick cardboard. Attach the armrest tubes. Further, after pasting them with paper, they will hold well, but for now they can be slightly “basted” with pieces of adhesive tape.

  • Cut out several strips of corrugated cardboard 1 cm wide and equal to the length of the tubes, and put them in a pile under the roller, smearing the layer with glue. Determine the number of layers locally. Paste over the armrest first with thin paper, and then with fleece or foam rubber.

  • Cover the chair with fabric. To do this, cut out pieces of material according to the same drawings, but adding a little (1-1.5 cm) in length and width for the fold.

  • Cover the back (removable) for the chair first with foam rubber on one side, and then with a cloth on all sides.

  • Set the back in the chair. It can be glued to a stationary back, or it can be left collapsible.

  • Do the pillow on the chair in the same way as the back.

  • This is how the royal chair for your favorite doll turned out.

The manufacturing technique of this upholstered furniture is similar to the scheme described above, only this chair is not a real model, and therefore the base for it is easier to perform. It consists of a piece of foam rubber, cut according to patterns, 1-2 cm thick and a small box. These parts also need to be pasted over with a beautiful fabric, and then connected.

From a rectangular piece of foam rubber that matches the size of the box, cut out a pillow and drape it with a cloth. If there is a sufficiently long and narrow box, then you can get a chic sofa for a doll.

The desire to make furniture for very often stops the lack of materials. Of course, few people have furniture boards, wooden blocks and springs in the apartment. However, miniature furniture does not require such real details. Half-liter plastic bottles are in any home and can be used not only as containers.

If they are cut in a certain way, they can turn out to be beyond the original chairs. In order to give them a presentable look, you can sheathe or glue the edges of the plastic with a beautiful braid. Next, you need to sew two pillows with your own and fill them with some kind of filler. One of them will be the seat and the other the back.

To complete this work, we need a cardboard tube, which remains from a roll of toilet paper. The manufacturing scheme is the same as in the previous version, only in this case we will not be able to make armrests. Therefore, miniature furniture will be more like an ottoman with a back.

Cut out the desired shape from the tube and paste over it with a cloth. Make a bag, fill it with filler and put it inside the tubes to make a seat.

Bed for doll baby

Barbie or Monster High are grown girls, so it makes sense that they might have a little baby. It also needs some furniture. For example, a crib.

There is a very simple option for making a cradle for a little Baby - a bed made of matchboxes. For the backs, you can use popsicle sticks. Glue the two boxes together and cover with colored paper. Glue the sticks and paint them. The bed is ready.

Matchboxes are an excellent building material for dollhouse furniture. These are ready made drawers. You can make a whole kitchen set out of them.

  1. Take 9 boxes and fold them into three rows, gluing them together.
  2. Tape around the perimeter with colored paper tape.
  3. Make staples at the ends of the "boxes" with a stapler. These will be the handles.
  4. Make hanging cabinets from three boxes.
  5. Glue two pieces in each box.
  6. Paint or cover them with colored paper.
  7. Cut the top of the box down the middle. These will be the doors. Handles on them can be drawn with a felt-tip pen or glued on a grain of rice.

From matchboxes you can construct a wonderful chest of drawers. For this we need:

  • 4 matchboxes;
  • 4 beads for legs and 4 for handles;
  • thin fabric or colored paper;
  • beautiful braid;
  • glue, paint.

Paint all boxes inside and out with a solid color paint. Glue them together and wrap with cloth or paper. Glue a braid along the contour, 4 bead legs on the bottom, and bead handles on each box.

Only 4 matchboxes, three beads, thick cardboard and colored paper are needed in order to make a stationery or desk. Take 3 boxes and glue them flat sides together. Glue them around the perimeter with colored paper.

Paste the fourth box with the same paper, which will serve as a second support for the countertop. The width of a matchbox is exactly equal to the height of a stack of three of the same boxes. Decorate drawers by sewing on beads as handles.

It remains to glue the cardboard table top on top and the school desk for the puppet student is ready.
