Do-it-yourself royal crown. DIY simple crowns

Theatrical performances in schools and kindergartens include making a costume with your own hand. What if the child is privileged to play the role of a prince or princess? Of course, choose the appropriate outfit. In order not to spend a lot of effort on making such an important element of a costume as a crown, you can take paper and make a royal headdress in an hour. How to make a paper crown with your own hands, will tell the presented master class with a step-by-step description of the work.

Fast option

The easiest way to create a conceived accessory is to search for a ready-made template and then print it on a printer. Further a matter of technology: the pattern is cut out, superimposed on colored paper and outlined. Cut the workpiece, glue the sides and attach a hat elastic.

The crown is ready. When you have a couple of watches in stock, you can add decorative elements to the front of the product.

If you have absolutely nothing at hand except paper, you can really have time to paint the product with felt-tip pens or paints.

Gold frame

A paper crown option does not necessarily imply a very simple product. It is enough to stock up on gold-colored paper and you can create a solid accessory for the prince.

You need to prepare:

  • gold-colored paper;
  • scissors;
  • pencil;
  • glue.

The paper is cut into small squares.

It should be borne in mind that the square folded diagonally will form the top of the crown, so you need to decide on the size of the blanks at this stage. Each square folds diagonally to form double triangles with a connected base. A single strip should be created from the blanks.

For the center of the crown, you need to take one triangle and coat the corners of its base with glue. On both sides, the corners are inserted into the other two triangles. Thus, the tops of the crown are overlapped.

The extreme triangle is inserted into the workpiece from the other end of the strip and glued. You can combine triangles in two ways: either create the entire crown by the same method as its central part, or by sequentially nesting each blank into the next. In any case, the crown comes out interesting and will suit both boys and girls.

A paper crown can become a masterpiece of art if executed using the quilling technique.

Paper lace

Work on such a product is quite laborious, but the result will exceed all expectations.

To complete the fantasy crown, you need to prepare:

  • paper of three colors (white, blue, lilac);
  • glue;
  • stationery knife;
  • a toothpick.

Before starting work, it is advisable to make a product template. The diagram is needed to understand where and which element is supposed to be used. It is drawn manually. The sheets of paper are cut into strips 5 mm wide. The length of each strip should be 21 cm.

In the first row of the crown, details are provided in the form of circles.

They are done by winding the strip on a toothpick. The resulting tube opens slightly, and the free end of the paper is fixed with glue. For the base of the crown, 18 similar elements should be created. The circles are glued together in a single line. The second row contains diamond-shaped details. Rhombuses are made in the same way as circles, but at the time of the opening of the tube, you should press the circle with your fingers on both sides, forming a rhombus. The tip of the strip is also glued.

Rhombuses are glued between the circles. The third line of the crown consists entirely of circles that are fixed between the rhombuses. Do not forget about the alternation of paper colors. This crown contains the main central piece in the form of a snowflake. It needs to be made separately.

Before you form this element, you should make drop-shaped blanks. They are created by the usual winding on a toothpick.

During the slow blooming of the strip, it is necessary to smoothly press the circle from both sides. Glue the paper tip. For a snowflake, you need 12 drops of different colors and 7 rhombuses. The elements are glued together, as shown in the photo.

The snowflake is neatly fixed to the base of the crown with glue.

For a full-fledged pattern, it remains to add additional rhombuses around the snowflake.

The product is turned over to the back and carefully coated with glue.

The crown is left to dry.

It is important to know! To keep the accessory in shape better, you can sprinkle it with hairspray.

Simple crown ideas for baby

If there is very little time, make the crown from a paper pattern. Study the ready-made schemes - and cut out the decoration according to the previously made sketch, taking into account the size of the child's head.

Advice: You can make several layers for a homemade crown so that after gluing these elements it turns out to be as lush as possible.

Since all parts will be connected with a stapler or glue, the required base circumference should be measured in advance. This is due to the fact that in the future you will not be able to change the parameters of such a headdress. When measuring head circumference, throw a couple of centimeters over any joints when gluing.

We recommend that you see a photo of a cardboard and paper crown to make it easier for you to draw the top of such a decoration. These can be both ordinary teeth and more refined details, but remember that the material should be more durable if you are going to make them thin and elongated, because with the active pastime of the child, they can wrinkle and fall.

Next, you need to cut the crown template out of paper. When the sketch of the paper crown turns into full-fledged details of the accessory, it remains to fasten the elements together, decorate with paints or colored paper, add beads or ribbons for an even more festive look.

If you want your homemade crown to shine, place pieces of foil on top of the accessory. After the glue dries, fold the edges inward and cut off any excess. A bright crown made of paper according to a template for cutting is ready!

Check out another way to make a simple paper crown for a girl. All you need is to take a ready-made hoop or make a cardboard headband out of a flat strip on the head, fastening the back with a stapler. On the front of such a rim, glue a small fragment of the crown with teeth. Decorate it immediately on both sides, as the crown will not be voluminous.

If you still have a toilet paper sleeve, the following idea for how to make a cardboard crown might work for you. Cut out uniform teeth in the upper part of the sleeve - glue or paint over the crown on all sides to match the created image. Such a crown is perfect for both girls and boys, and thanks to its density and durability, it will be preserved for subsequent holidays.

In the same way, you can glue a heart, a feather, a herringbone and many other details to the base, focusing on an upcoming event or masquerade theme.

Here's another example of how to make a paper snowflake crown. You will need to take material in two colors - and cut it into several elements that will be twisted using the quilling technique:

  • cut the paper into strips measuring seven by twenty centimeters;
  • make twenty circles and twenty rhombuses of the same size out of them;
  • form the first row from circles glued to each other;
  • now go to the second row - and glue the rhombuses between the circles;
  • alternate rows, and at the end glue a snowflake-shaped craft from branches with the same circles and rhombuses to the center of such a blank;
  • as a result of alternately gluing multi-colored parts, you will get a decoration, as in the photo below.

It will be better if the layers of rhombuses and circles become wider towards the top. This approach will allow you to make a more voluminous and lush crown.

Carefully cut out all unnecessary elements, paying attention to the small slots. Secure the ends of the crown - and you can proceed to the next stage.

Cut flowers out of brighter paper or cardboard, bend the petals - and attach voluminous jewelry to the headdress.

Volumetric golden crown on the head

Instead of cutting a crown out of a solid piece of cardboard or paper, you can assemble it from a variety of pieces. We will tell you how to make a party headdress for a princess or prince.

You will not need a cardboard crown scheme, since this accessory will consist of many small parts. Take a colored sheet (preferably with golden tints) or stock up on white sheets and paints for additional decor.

Begin cutting out squares with sides of five centimeters. The number of squares will depend on the width of the crown, so after taking the appropriate measurements, you will be able to cut the required number of parts.

Fold the squares diagonally and glue the triangles together at the fold. Slide the pieces into each other in parts, applying glue on one side (where the front of the cardboard crown will be).

After you create the first layer and make sure that there are enough blanks, you can do the next. Glue the triangles that make up the second layer between the two bottom ones. This approach will create a more voluminous and realistic crown.

After finishing the work with the second layer, you can fasten the two ends of the crown to each other - and try on the decoration. We advise you to immediately accurately mark the desired length and make a note with a pencil in the place where you will need to glue the extreme triangles.

Now it remains to wait half an hour for the glue to dry - and decorate the crown as you wish.

Colored crown with applique

It is not necessary to create a paper crown in the traditional manner. Why not decorate it like a cake or decorate it with homemade goodies cut out of paper or fabric? Now we will share with you ideas on how to make a crown out of colored paper for a princess so that it will definitely overshadow all other images.

First, let's prepare a layout. Take a thick sheet or colored cardboard - and, if desired, additionally decorate with paints or sparkles to make the workpiece brighter. In the next step, measure the coverage of the child's head - and you can draw a diagram of the paper crown for further cutting.

Here is one of the options for how to cut the crown:

  • cut a square sheet of paper into two rectangles measuring fifteen by thirty centimeters;
  • cut semicircles with a diameter of eleven and a half centimeters from the rectangles;
  • make a rim - and cut out the composition according to the finished scheme on two rectangles;
  • glue these parts on one side;
  • decorate the accessory with ribbons, stickers, threads, beads and other elements that will help create an imitation of sweets;
  • decorate the upper sharp edges of the crown with pre-cut circles with a diameter of five centimeters with a suitable decor;
  • attach a crown made of paper to your head - and cut off the excess part, not forgetting that a couple of centimeters of material will go for gluing;
  • fix the free edges of the crown and wait for the glue to dry;
  • as a result of these procedures, you will receive a bright and positive accessory. The following photo of a paper crown shows an example of what this craft might look like.

How to complete the image of the king

We continue to use templates of crowns - paper and cardboard, and now we will figure out how, according to the ready-made scheme, you can create an original headdress for a medieval royal image. To create a crown for a boy, you need a dense sheet of a bright shade, for example, yellow or orange (like gold). Use this material to cut a long strip. Connect the ends together to form a ring.

Now take a different color of paper and cut out two more strips of a larger width. Glue them to the base in a cruciform position in relation to each other. Please note that a composition with criss-cross stripes should not interfere and cause inconvenience to the child while putting on such an accessory.

Smoothly lifting these stripes up and bending at the center of the crown, fix all the elements at one point. To prevent the top of your crown from looking unfinished, decorate it with a large jewelry piece or a homemade cross with beads. Decorate other parts of the boy's crown with auxiliary details.

Advice: so that such a crown does not fall, you can make another base from the inside out of thick stripes. She will play the role of a hat and fix the accessory on the child's head from all sides.

The pattern of the crown in the medieval style can be modified at your discretion. It will be better if you start creating blanks with your child and let him choose how the headdress will look for the holiday.

Origami style crown

You can make a beautiful homemade crown for a girl using the origami technique. Its essence lies in the connection of a large number of small folding parts.

Advice: To make the crown brighter and more cheerful, use several shades of paper - and alternate colored elements with each other.

Making a traditional kokoshnik

One of the popular trends in the design of festive costumes for children is the use of homemade kokoshniks instead of crowns and other hats. We can say that the kokoshnik is a crown in the Russian style, so it is not surprising that it fits many images. Let's find out how to make a kokoshnik.

You should start by creating a kokoshnik template. Draw a kokoshnik pattern with your own hand or use ready-made stencil pictures of different sizes and shapes. We advise you not to make such a headdress too large, as it will interfere with the child's movement and will constantly fall off the head.

The lower part of a kokoshnik for a girl from cardboard can be made straight or semicircular. In the first case, the headdress will cover the head on the forehead, and in the second, it will be worn from above. Regardless of the option chosen, it is important to correctly calculate all the parameters so that such an accessory does not fall off the head or is not small for the girl.

When the workpiece is drawn, you can begin to carefully cut the kokoshnik, taking into account all the small details. Then glue the borders of the headgear using rain, ribbons, faux fur, or other materials.

You can sew the fabric on the front of the kokoshnik - this will make it easier to attach beads and other decorative elements to the front side. But they can also be planted with glue, so it is not at all necessary to waste time on cladding.

To keep the kokoshnik securely on the girl's head, attach ribbons or an elastic band to its lower edges. This will help you tie or tighten the hat under your chin. Depending on the theme of the holiday, decorate this accessory with small snowflakes, sparkles, stickers, floral sketches or decorate in another way.

We shared with you interesting ideas on how to make crowns for children's parties from the simplest materials at hand. Take a look at the templates and choose the option you like.

The more difficult such a craft is, the more chances that the crown will not only become the main decoration of the child's outfit, but will also differ from similar accessories of other children at the holiday.

Preparing for holidays, theatrical performances, matinees, photo shoots and other children's events always causes a lot of difficulties, because there is a need to prepare a costume that matches the intended image. A headdress is an important component of any themed outfit, and one of the most popular today is the paper crown, which we will make with our own hands.

We will tell you how to make an unusual crown out of paper for a boy or girl with your own hands.

How to make a paper crown with your own hands on a cardboard base: the manufacturing process

The easiest way to make a crown out of cardboard is to cut it out with your own hands according to a template and decorate it with foil. All you need to create such an accessory is a couple of pieces of cardboard, scissors, glue, pencil and foil.

Start the process by taking measurements: measure the circumference of your child's head - and add a few centimeters to the obtained values, since the piece of cardboard will be glued from the back. After the calculations, start cutting out a long strip that will serve as the basis for the paper crown.

The next step is to create the top of the crown. You can use a ready-made cardboard crown pattern, as well as cut the required shape yourself. For example, manually draw teeth of the same or varying height with a pencil and cut along the contour.

Next, start decorating the frame of the crown: coat the cardboard with glue - and fix a sheet of foil of a suitable length. We advise you to fold the edges of the foil inward on each side of the accessory so that the cut joints are not conspicuous. The rest of the foil paper is glued to the inner walls.

When the crown is completely dry, carefully cut off excess pieces of foil between all the teeth of the structure. Bend the edges of the material inward in the same way as described above. Only after the crown is completely glued and completely dried can the teeth be fixed on the holder strip - and the edges are fastened to each other. A circle has formed with characteristics suitable for your child.

A cardboard crown can be made in a different way: cut and sequentially fasten several dense layers to each other, and then decorate the craft with beads, sparkles, foil elements, rhinestones, satin ribbons, tinsel and other trifles.

If you are creating a crown for the New Year's carnival, a bright rain or a fluffy cotton layer along the lower border of the crown will be an excellent addition to this accessory.

You can make a crown quickly and easily with your own hands using a paper template. Take a thick paper sheet - and draw the shape of the crown with a pencil according to the stencils you have found. Cutting paper crown is best done in bright colors.

In addition to colored paper, you will need PVA glue and a stationery knife.

We suggest you try to implement another unusual idea - a snowflake crown.

To create a simple and graceful crown made of paper on your head according to a template with your own hands, it is enough to do just a few simple manipulations:

  1. Cut strips of seven millimeters by twenty-five centimeters from colored (for example, red and yellow) paper.
  2. For the base of the paper crown, prepare twenty circles and two diamonds of the same size. To create the first row, you will need circles that will be connected to each other with glue.
  3. Next, complete the second row: this time, use rhombuses - and lock between the circles of the first row. The rest of the rows are performed in a similar way by alternating two geometric shapes and shades.
  4. The main highlight of such a decoration will be an unusual snowflake. Schemes of a paper crown with a snowflake can be downloaded from the Internet, but you will also have a good decor manually: glue the rhombuses and circles together to create a large snowflake of a multi-colored palette. This composition is glued to the center of your craft.

To make the crown more magnificent, each subsequent geometric layer can be made wider. Then the composition will increase towards the top - and will look much more interesting than traditional purchased accessories.
