After that, knit 1 row of faces. loops with gray thread, evenly adding 2 sts on the 1st knitting needle, 1 sts on the 2nd knitting needle, 2 sts on the 3rd knitting needle and 1 sts on the 4th knitting needle = 54 sts. and start knitting faces. stitch, knitting the pattern according to the scheme from the 1st row, knit the 1-13th rows. On the 14th row, make a hole for the thumb as follows: knit the loops of the 1st and 2nd knitting needles according to the pattern, then knit the first 2 stitches on the 3rd knitting needle.
Knit the next 10 sts with a thread of a contrasting color, transfer these loops back to the right knitting needle and continue to knit in a circle of the 15-40th rows. From the 41st row, start knitting the toe of the mitten by decreasing, as shown in the diagram, = 10 p. Cut the thread, pull off the remaining loops with the end of the thread.

To knit the thumb, remove the thread of the contrasting color, transfer the cut loops to the knitting needles + cast on an additional 2 sts on the sides = 24 sts Evenly distribute the loops on 3 knitting needles and knit in the round. satin stitch alternately 1 st with white thread and 1 st with gray thread, shifting the pattern by 1 st in each row. Description of knitting

Right mitten

On knitting needles No. 3.5 with a red thread, we collect 36 loops, evenly distribute the loops on 4 knitting needles. We knit in the round 10 cm with an elastic band 1x1. After that, we knit 1 row of faces. n. with a red thread, evenly adding 2 loops on the 1st knitting needle, 1 loop on the 2nd knitting needle, 2 loops on the 3rd knitting needle and 1 loop on the 4th knitting needle = 42 loops. We change the knitting needles to number 4 and begin to knit faces. stitch, knitting a pattern according to the scheme from the 1st row, we knit the 1-10th rows. In the 11th row, we make a hole for the thumb as follows: we knit the loops of the 1st and 2nd knitting needles according to the pattern, then we knit the first 2 loops on the 3rd knitting needle.

We knit the next 9 loops with a thread of a contrasting color, transfer these loops back to the right knitting needle and continue to knit in a circle of the 12-33rd row. From the 34th row, we begin to knit the toe of the mittens, performing decreases, as shown in the diagram = 10 loops. We cut the thread, tighten the remaining loops with the end of the thread.

To knit the thumb, we remove the thread of a contrasting color, transfer the loops of the cut to the knitting needles + we collect 2 additional loops on the sides = 22 loops. We evenly distribute the loops on 3 knitting needles and knit around the faces. stitch alternately 1 loop with white thread and 1 loop with red thread, shifting the pattern by 1 loop in each row. At a height of 6 cm (or reaching the middle of the nail), we begin to knit 2 loops together at the end of each knitting needle. We perform such decreases in each row until 8 loops remain on the knitting needles.

We cut the thread, tighten the remaining loops with the end of the thread.

Left mitten

We knit symmetrically.

Lightly steam the finished mittens.

My first experience of knitting mittens, firstly, using the jacquard technique, and, secondly, I used to make a hole for my thumb, knitting a thread into work. And now she was gaining air loops on the top.

Knitted with 1.5 knitting needles. Thread of the Troitsk worsted factory, TAIGA classic, Siberia (300 m / 100 g), 100% merino wool. Here is a link to this yarn (with the permission of the site moderators) (Link removed, User agreement p.2.4) Colors bleach (code 4910230) and orange (code 4911625). From two skeins, 3 pairs of similar mittens will come out (two skeins mean two colors). I have a knitting density of 40 loops per 10 cm.

Knitting is actually not difficult. So that the threads do not get confused, I put one skein to my left, the other to my right and follow their change. Every 3 loops fixed a non-working thread. I knitted the first mitten for about a week and a half (naturally, taking into account other household chores), and knitted the second in two days, because the pattern is already familiar. The size of these mittens is for a child of 6-8 years.

I have already started knitting another pattern, also Norwegian jacquard, also mittens, the size is slightly larger.

So, description of work .

We collect 51 loops with a white thread and knit with an elastic band 2 persons, 1 out: 9 p. white, 2 p. orange, 4 p. white, 2 p. orange, 1 p. white, 1 p. orange, 1 p. white, 2 p. orange, 4 p. white, 2 p. orange, 5 p. in white.

We begin to knit a pattern according to the diagram. We pay attention to the increase in loops in the area of the thumb. The diagram, in my opinion, just shows very clearly that the loops are added every 3 rows, immediately after the orange loop (and immediately before the last orange loop) one yarn over with white thread is added. Where X is on the diagram, you need to re-shoot 13 loops (from orange to orange loop) on a pin, and in the next row above these loops, cast on air 13 loops. Here, a set of two colors presents some difficulty, but, believe me, this is only a matter of practice. To suffer for 10 minutes longer, but then make a mark in your list of positive qualities - "I know how to dial air loops in two colors."

Then we continue to knit according to the pattern. Reductions are made as follows. After knitting the three loops of the border, two white loops are knitted, and the first of them is pulled through the second (as we close the loops at the end of work). We do the same before the next border - as if we are closing one loop. We knit the mittens until 10 loops remain on the knitting needles, then we stretch both threads (white and orange) through all the loops and tighten.

Finger . We transfer 13 loops from the pin to the knitting needle, on the other we collect 13 loops of the upper row, and also pick up one loop on the sides (so that there are no holes). Distribute evenly. There are a total of 28 stitches on the needles. We begin to knit according to the pattern of knitting a finger. Pay attention to pattern matching. The extreme orange stripes from the main mitten are, as it were, the inner parts of the border on the finger. This is also not difficult, you just need to take your time, and so that no one else pulls you at this time. We close the loops in the same way as in the main mitten, and when 8 loops remain on the knitting needles, we stretch both threads through them and tighten the knitting.

We turn the mitten inside out. If we crossed the thread every 3-4-5 loops, then inside the mitten looks very neat, the fingers do not cling to anything when put on. With a hook, we pull the ends of the threads from the top of the mittens and the thumb inward, fasten them, cut off the excess. We knit the second mitten in the same way, only we read the pattern according to the scheme not from left to right, but from right to left, i.e. in mirror image. The finger is tied in the same way.
