Beautifully dressed winter women. How to dress beautifully in winter? Parkas and anoraks: what are they and what are they worn with

On the one hand, it is difficult to write about stylish images in winter. Because all fashionistas in the world seem to live somewhere at the latitude of Sochi and the icy wind never gets into the collar of their light coat (well, that's about it). Even the artificial cutting off of the southern territories does not help. I've been watching street style from Stockholm fashion week hoping to see some life hacks we didn't know about fighting the cold. All she saw was the same bare feet in sandals (and socks, according to the latest trends) running past the snowdrifts. So my first thought is going to be a bit outrageous and seemingly unrelated to fashion. But don't worry, it will be followed by a second, more practical one, and many, many examples.

Yes, the fashion industry does not assume that you will stand for twenty minutes at a public transport stop in the wind and frost, cursing your Slavic ancestors, who had the idea to settle in the region of the gloomy banks of the Vistula (and then also conquer Siberia), and not in the blessed areas where in winter you can smoke for a long time in street cafes, wrapped in a blanket. I don’t want to play the role of Dmitry Anatolyevich Medvedev, in whose world every Russian family, in addition to the pink pony, owns a personal car ... But if you suddenly consider buying a car as something completely separate from your budget for fashion and beauty, then stop considering it that way. Not a single fur coat, not a single sheepskin coat, not a single bag will do as much for your personal style as the oldest, simplest car. In the discussion of fashion purchases, the question “is it worth saving up” periodically flashes. On a fur coat, on a bag, on a sweater from Gucci. So, my answer is no. It's not worth saving up for anything other than a car.

My new beautiful world, in which I like myself in the mirror, began with the visit of stylists and the definition of half of the closet for scrap. And continued to buy a car. And that's when I was able to throw away the remaining creepy things "for warmth." Gone was at least one layer of clothing, which was stretched simply for fear of dying on the way to the subway. Shoes with fur are gone - they are no longer needed anywhere except for walks in the park. The desire to pull on boots higher, because they supposedly warm the feet, and cheaper, because they will be trampled on by neighbors in transport or winter reagents on the roads will make them unusable, is gone. The Orenburg shawl has finally ceased to seem like a good option for warming (a woolen hat is enough).

It was the first thought. The second thought: it’s easy to write about stylish images in winter. No, I did not report and did not get confused in the subordinate clauses. It is possible and necessary to look good in any weather and any budget (and for many years I looked unknown how, first of all, because I did not pay attention to the issue and did not know the rules, and not because I was very cold without a car). It's just that the colder, the fewer options. There are not so many clothes and options for combining them according to the principle “both stylish and warm”. Frankly, not much. Down jacket. Parka. Sheepskin coat. Tight tights. Woolen dress. Boots. Trousers and jeans. Skirt. And difficulties begin when, in this cramped space, we begin to be overcome by bouts of creativity. And what if the coat is for the winter, but warm? What about knee high boots? Or maybe a fur vest (God forgive me) on a leather jacket? And what if a down jacket with a hem in the form of a sun skirt and short sleeves? Let's talk about this.

Outerwear

Coat. The coat should be relatively thin. It is not intended for frost. Therefore, artificially insulated models of classic coats look monstrous and ridiculous. You will definitely not look more elegant in such a coat.

Also, no variations on the theme of a raincoat coat are suitable:

When you start to freeze in your autumn coat and sweater, it's time to bring in the heavy artillery in the form of down jackets, parkas, and sheepskin coats.

Down jacket. A successful down jacket can be of two types: a neat thin jacket that can be worn under a coat, and even, and a voluminous version. At the same time, it is better not to wear a short jacket separately, it greatly simplifies the image (especially with jeans and boots - and this is the number one image in popularity in our latitudes during the cold season).

A wonderful image of the American housewife. She hasn't even put on her boots yet.

A down jacket should not be disguised as a coat, or a dress, or the infamous model of the “autolady” fur coat (if it doesn’t bother you that it looks like provincial chic, then let it confuse at least the fact that hands are very cold with such sleeves).

Bad down jackets:

The perfect down jacket under the coat can be bought at Uniqlo (it is better to choose the color silver, beige, burgundy - something that is easy to combine with other clothes)

This is how it will look under a coat (there was an example from men's fashion, but what's stopping us):

Options for good voluminous down jackets - sporty, rough, not pretending to be something elegant:

Sheepskin coat. Again, rather spacious models are relevant, as if taken from the shoulders of American pilots. Without gloss, varnish and any special frills. I am not sure about the heat-saving qualities of models made of artificial materials. Therefore, this story will most likely not be cheap. And the question remains open with a buttoned sheepskin coat (which does not look as cool as an unbuttoned one). Therefore, it is worth trying on very carefully and taking time to think and calmly look at the photos taken in the fitting room.

Parka. The most win-win type of winter clothing. The most successful colors are natural. Green, khaki, olive, yellow. You can safely start looking for good models in sports stores (just check what temperature the item is designed for, there are different options). And continue (if you wish) in designer boutiques. I do not recommend black, it is already a huge amount in any wardrobe. And again without unnecessary details and glamor. I already thought that the park could not be spoiled at all, but it turns out that it is possible. Some kind of incomprehensible drawstring rising to the chin - and that's it, the good thing is gone.

Do not be smart, take the simplest options:

Fur coat. I do not like them and consider their value in the fight against cold to be greatly exaggerated. For the cost of a more or less decent fur coat, you can buy at least two expensive and very warm parkas. I won’t even talk about works of art in the form of a bathrobe.

For outerwear too. Don't look at the numbers (42, 44, 58 - doesn't matter). The winter outerwear should not be tight and should leave room for a jacket, sweatshirt, or whatever you will inevitably wear underneath.

Dresses and skirts

For some reason they are unpopular in winter. They seem to be considered cold. But the ugly version of "tights + trousers + boots + sweater" is extremely popular. In fact, wearing tight tights and a tight skirt or dress (wool, cotton) is no colder than wearing trousers. And much prettier. And there is no such uncomfortable intimate question as "what to do with tights in the office." Leaving them under your trousers is hot, taking them off somewhere in the toilet is a chore. If you are desperate, well, it’s simply impossible, it’s cold on the way to work (and I understand this well), then it’s easier to put on a warm ski suit over a tight, simple dress than over something complex. And in this form to get (and go to meetings in a thin coat and in a taxi, but how else). Below is a selection of the right winter skirts and dresses. Where we see bare feet, we do not fall into sacred horror. We mentally put on tight black, gray or brown tights without shine for these images. (Or trousers - for that matter there was a selection in FB). And, as always, we are not too zealous with fitting the figure. Both sweater dresses and sweatshirt dresses, not to mention wide cocoon dresses, should sit loosely.

This green sweater dress (see photo above) is 100% wool. Very pleasant color and origin (Maison Margiela). At half the price of the Boss sweater we discussed, I think it invites more familiarity. I did not hold it in my hands, but, judging by the photo, the dress is good (except maybe a little short).

Trousers
It is unlikely that you will be able to refuse them completely. But remember that boots are still not allowed. Therefore, it is better not to wear office trousers, but jeans or chinas. A warm (and long!) Sock is put on under them. And over the sock - a low boot.

Again, men's fashion sets an example for us. The sock can be contrasting (for the brave) and with a pattern. Or maybe some neutral blue.

Shoes

Boots. Here is also an example of a highly overrated piece of clothing. There are almost no really beautiful and well-fitting boots in nature. Even what is sold in Chanel and Gucci does not cause stormy enthusiasm. Not to mention some Tervolina. Yes, the photos from the show can be perfect. But we're not on display. At the show, you will never be shown thick boots with fur inside (they don’t even know why). At the show, the hairpin will not slide on the ice and will not fall into the snowdrift.

With what to combine is also not clear. Trousers are bad, skirts and dresses remain. But even with them, boots that lengthen the leg and look more expensive than they cost are better (unlike boots, which are exactly the opposite).

In winter, finding the answer to the question of how to look good becomes much more difficult. I decided to show you a few images I liked and figure out what they are good for and what we can apply from this in the current weather.

Many different shades of the same color plus very successful textures: soft, winter and warm. The current trend for elongated sleeves is just the way, it becomes even warmer for the hands. (and certainly in winter it is more practical than rolled up sleeves). Picking up a hat and gloves in the right shades (or wrapping your head in a scarf too) is a completely wearable idea.

Great idea: a warm long coat, suede over the knee boots and a sweater dress. For warmth, you can also add textured tight tights, tone-on-tone with boots. This idea, by the way, can work with some long down jackets, if they do not look sporty.

Down jackets of the "blanket" type can be just a salvation for the winter season. Important: such a down jacket should not be short. The optimal length is to the knee. It's warmer and more stylish.

Many complain that the coat is cold. But in my experience, in a good woolen coat, it is quite possible to walk down to minus five or minus ten. And if it is also on a warm lining. Oversized wool coats are also good because, firstly, you can wear something very warm under them (including, for example, a quilted thin vest, which will immediately increase the warmth of the set at times). And secondly, they are so comfortable to wrap.

I love black very much. But in winter and autumn, the streets are simply dominated by black coats and down jackets. If you have already chosen black for outerwear, combine it with lighter knitted textures. And better than one.

Everyone is outraged by winter looks with bare ankles, but look what an elegant solution I came across: textured warm socks. They differ in color from the shoes and retain the impression of contrast. but warm and good.

A good idea that can also be used with a warmer jacket: a short sheepskin coat like a pilot's jacket, for example. Just pay attention - here the fabric of the skirt does not stick very well. Better a thin skirt that does not stick or a tighter and looser skirt.

A fur coat is really very warm. Feel free to wear fur coats in unusual combinations.

Bulky warm cardigans are an irreplaceable thing! But only when buying such a cardigan you need to check whether your coat or jacket or parka will fit on it. My cardigans, alas, are not friendly with any outerwear

Warm tights, over the knee boots and a voluminous sweater - you can safely add a short and thin skirt to this, you won’t freeze

cool

Winter is the perfect time for experiments, because even the same accessories in your arsenal are much more than in summer: in addition to bags and jewelry, there are also hats, scarves and gloves, which means there is where to show your imagination. Arm yourself with our tips to create an interesting look.

Bright accent

In the era of the normcom, when people specifically dress in such a way that they do not stand out, in the event that you do not belong to this movement, first of all, you should take care of accessories. And even if you choose a “black coat + black boots” set, you can always skillfully dilute it with bright accessories.

Stylists advise combining at least three colors in one image, and this is without taking into account the so-called neutral colors (black, white, gray), but if you are not sure of your ability to correctly select colors, then use the color wheel below or use no more than 3 -x of any shades.

A monochrome coat, diluted with several bright accessories in different colors, always looks advantageous. Pay attention to the trendy shades of winter: purple, burgundy, emerald and beige.

In addition to playing with color, there are versatile combinations of things that will help you look stylish, fashionable and warm. Let's see what are the most trendy combinations of this season?

Artificial fur

For many seasons in a row, many designers prefer faux fur instead of real. Some things are made in such a way that you can’t distinguish from natural, and at the same time animals do not suffer. Of course, a complete rejection of it does not occur, since the concept of luxury is in the first place for many brands, and after that - practicality, but the heroines of the street style prove that faux fur can also be beaten in such a way that it will be associated exclusively with the word "luxury" .

For example, for short fur coats there is an unspoken rule: do not combine it with other mini-length items. It will look good with skinny jeans and jockey boots or leather pants and ankle boots to match them.

Especially popular are midi fur coats with bright geometric prints. You can wear them both with a long skirt in a neutral shade, and with trousers of any style. The shoes are suitable for both heels and low heels.

But fur boas should be worn only with a slight aristocratic chic, carelessly thrown over the shoulder. This accessory looks great with fitted coats, heeled shoes and retro hats (for example, cloche).

Long faux fur coats worn over ethnic print maxi dresses or flared trousers look bohemian.

Maximum length

Designers from Calvin Klein to Chloé offer floor-length coats this winter. This trend came to us from the popular era of the 80s this season. The heroine Kim Basinger in the cult film "9 ½ weeks", if she went out, then only in a maxi coat.

Since then, its cut has not changed at all, but other decorative elements have been added that make this thing more modern. For example, leather inserts. This model looks better with the same leather gloves, suede boots and jeans.

Also, do not be afraid to combine it with skirts or maxi dresses, but it is better to choose them with a straight silhouette so as not to create additional volume. Complete with an envelope clutch and heeled shoes. Long coats look great with all kinds of hats with wide and not very wide brim and knitted caps.

If you think such a coat is old-fashioned, try wearing it with sneakers or sneakers, and then you will see that such an epithet for this product certainly cannot be used. A backpack or a small crossbody bag and a beanie hat are the best fit for such a bow.

Short sheepskin coats

The general fashion for retro does not stop either in summer or in winter. They say that the Russian fashion designer Vyacheslav Zaitsev introduced the sheepskin coat into the trend, but, of course, first of all, it is associated with the style of the 80s.

A sheepskin coat is universal and you can hardly find a thing in combination with which it would look bad. Most often, voluminous short sheepskin coats are worn with leather pants or skinny jeans, massive tractor-soled ankle boots or men's style boots, and do not forget about a knitted hat and a voluminous scarf.

But, no less beautiful, she looks with maxi dresses, a classic bag and stiletto boots. And those who are not afraid to take risks can wear it with a midi skirt, suede boots and a clutch.

free flare

The most fashionable style of trousers this winter is flared. These trousers migrated to our wardrobe from the military. And at the beginning of the 19th century, because of their convenience (the flare came from the hip), they turned out to be part of the uniform of American sailors. But they gained particular popularity in the days of the hippies, although they underwent some changes: they now “flared” from the knee.

Jane Birkin, Twiggy and David Bowie, and later Rachel Zoe and Jessica Alba were seen among the fans of this style of trousers. Now flared jeans should be worn with short leather jackets or straight-cut coats with unusual prints, hats and voluminous scarves.

To visually stretch the silhouette, wear stilettos or more comfortable heels.

And flared trousers made of corduroy or suit fabric are best combined with long fur coats or classic straight coats.

The stars are another proof that you can look bright and stylish in winter. Let's see what bows they have chosen for the cold season.

Hundreds of examples that can be found on the Internet or even accidentally seen on the street can inspire you to create your own unique image, so good luck!

January is the coldest month of winter, which poses a difficult task for fashionistas: to dress stylishly, not without harm to health. Unfortunately, many of our compatriots, despite the fact that we live in a country with a rather harsh climate, have not yet learned how to solve it correctly. In order to look feminine and, as they believe, fashionable, some of the fairer sex are ready to freeze and thereby subject their body to a serious test. Moreover, the girls don’t even think to associate protracted colds with their own appearance. Although in fact the connection is the most direct. How to dress properly in winter, so as not to put your health at risk, but look fashionable and interesting? Let's figure it out.

1. How not to dress?

It would seem that so much has been said about sets that are inappropriate for winter, but still there are those who want to put on them. Shortened down jackets, jackets and sheepskin coats that open the lower back are those things that are simply unacceptable in winter. If you are so attached to these wardrobe details, leave them until spring. In winter, in such things you will look just stupid.
Another addiction that many women sin is stiletto boots. It is simply dangerous to walk in such shoes in ice. You run the risk of failing to fall, not to mention the fact that a high heel makes walking ridiculous, because it is not designed to overcome snowdrifts and snow crusts.
Miniskirts paired with thin tights, sneakers, low-waisted jeans, shorts, and other summer items have no place in a winter wardrobe. If you do not want to look in the eyes of others as a person who does not have the opportunity to purchase things for the season, give up these things that are inappropriate for winter. Each set has its own time. You don't wear a fur coat in the summer, do you?

2. Choose the right outerwear.

Choose elongated and insulated models. Not all outerwear is designed for winter. Keep this in mind when you make a purchase. For example, it is better to take with 75% down: such a thing will be really warm and comfortable. But if the label indicates that the fluff makes up only 50% of the insulation, then we have an autumn model that will not save you from winter frosts.
Coats choose from dense fabrics with a warm lining inside. If your region experiences very low temperatures, then you should purchase a high-quality sheepskin coat or fur coat. Pay attention to additional elements: pockets, hood. Their presence guarantees additional protection in the cold.

As for styles and colors, today fashionistas have plenty to choose from. Various styles are in fashion: military, ethnic, country, unisex, and of course, classic. When choosing a model, consider the features of the figure and your lifestyle. If you spend a lot of time in the office, then it is better to give preference to universal models of the classic silhouette in soothing colors. If your lifestyle is not associated with a strict dress code, you can choose more free and creative styles in bright colors.

3. Choose winter shoes.

High-quality shoes are the basis of a winter wardrobe. No matter how warmly you dress, if you are wearing thin boots, the frost will penetrate to the bones. Therefore, the choice of shoes should be approached responsibly and thoughtfully. Genuine leather and fur - a guarantee that you will not be cold in winter. The issue of care is also important, because leather shoes tolerate slush and dirt better than, for example, their suede counterparts. It is enough just to wipe the skin and treat it with a special cream so that it becomes like new again. But suede shoes require careful care and do not tolerate bad weather very well. In addition, most often, under the guise of suede shoes, we are sold models made of cheaper velor, which is generally not intended for wet and cold weather. Therefore, before choosing the upper material, think carefully about whether you are ready to spend time and effort on the constant cleaning of new boots.

Pay attention to the sole: if it is corrugated and thick, then ice will not be terrible for you.
Many will say that these characteristics do not fit well with the concept of "stylish shoes", although in fact this statement has nothing to do with fashionable realities. Today, designers unanimously advise fashionistas to pay attention, for example, to rocker boots and jockey boots. These models have a flat grooved sole and fit perfectly with a fashionable winter wardrobe. No one is asking you to permanently abandon your favorite ankle boots with high heels or stilettos. Just remember that each model has its own season and weather conditions.

4. Stylish accessories.

In winter, accessories are real helpers in creating a fashionable look. They make it possible to diversify the wardrobe and add bright accents to the everyday set. Scarves, gloves and hats, in addition to aesthetic purposes, allow you to warm up and not freeze. You really can’t do without them in winter, so stock up on a few accessories that you will use according to your mood.

I would like to make a reservation right away that the times of plain sets and hats a la cake with roses have sunk into oblivion. Today, designers offer to combine different colors and textures in one set. Large knitting, voluminous shapes and unusual solutions are in fashion. Hats with earflaps, elegant berets, knitted hats of various shapes and colors, transformers (scarves that can easily turn into a headdress or even a poncho) are the elements that you should pay attention to when choosing a headdress.

Remember that in addition to fashion, it is important to focus on your type of face and even occupation. For example, a fashionable hat with a large pom-pom is unlikely to look appropriate on an elegant lady, but this headdress will find its place in the wardrobe of a student.

When compiling a winter wardrobe, remember that in the cold season you can and should be beautiful and stylish, and that the word “warmth” is not an antonym for these concepts. In a warm jacket and a bright scarf, you will look fashionable and feel comfortable and cozy. In such a set, a winter walk will bring pleasure and joy. After all, we love winter because only at this time of the year you can enjoy the beautiful snow-white landscapes and flaunt in a stylish hat, fur coat and fashionable boots.

One of the biggest wardrobe challenges for a girl in the cold is dressing in style and for the weather. Not finding a balance, we turn into either freezing fashionistas or cabbages who give up on the way warm clothes have turned out. But there are five secrets on how to dress warmly and beautifully!

#1 Basic wardrobe is a winter must-have

Like any season, winter needs a base that you can combine both with each other and with more specific things. In the basic wardrobe, it is desirable to have both voluminous and figure-shaped clothes. And remember the rule: if you don’t have a basic wardrobe, don’t spend money on things of complex colors and complex cuts. First, the basic, that is, your main warm and beautiful clothes.

  • A plain shirt made of thick cotton and a flannel shirt, which is most often produced in a fashionable check.
  • A thin sweater made of angora or other pleasant wool.
  • Turtleneck in neutral tones.
  • A pair of loose knit sweaters, preferably one regular length and one extra long.
  • Knitted cardigan and the trend of the season - a vest.
  • Jeans are the basis of many fashionable looks, but in winter, trousers made of woolen suiting fabric are better.

  • Skirts: thick ribbed and bouffant fabrics, knitted and quilted skirts are back in fashion. About 10-15 years ago it was already a winter trend: they wore mostly insulated maxi trapezes. Today, various cuts can be made from quilted fabric, but in recent seasons, puffy skirts with tucks or pleats are especially relevant. They have a warm lining, plus under them, if necessary, you can put something else warm. Because of the volume, it is worth wearing such a skirt with a short jacket. Give preference to midi skirts and a little longer.
  • Dress, depending on the type of figure, we choose a thin woolen or large knit according to the figure of maxi length, a midi bag dress or a dress with a free A-line cut, or flared from the waist from a warm standing fabric. Ideally, two: knitted and fabric.

As for colors, the base can include timeless classics: shades of black, white, gray, brown, peach, deep blue, burgundy, faded green, aka khaki. If the thing is suitable for many combinations, then you can choose from brighter colors that are relevant in the current season. Basic clothes are mostly plain, but a discreet pattern is also acceptable.

Of course, this is an average version of the basics of the wardrobe, which you can adjust depending on the lifestyle and work dress code, if any.

And a little about the trends: this winter, fur is in fashion on everything, suede and you must have a thing made of velvet - a dress, a skirt, a jacket. The brave can wear a fur skirt or a skirt generously flavored with fringe.

# 2 Combinations - what will be both warm and fashionable with what

Now about how to dress beautifully and warmly in winter. Layering and oversized are in fashion, but they are not suitable for every figure and not for every occasion. If you feel that these styles make you unnecessarily fat, use the rule of compensation: if one thing is voluminous, let the other be flattering.

  • For example, a puffy skirt with a discreet turtleneck, or a stretchy sweater and skinny jeans.

Returning to layering, this is a very beneficial winter trend: firstly, it can be warmer in several thin things than in one bulky one, and secondly, you can undress to a comfortable temperature indoors.

  • Today, a combination of a shirt and a sweater is in fashion. Almost any thin bottom will fit under a cardigan. A vest or a voluminous jacket, fashionable this season, will chicly sit on top of the dress. Pants, or at least warm leggings, go great with a skirt.

An even more unusual, but very wearable option is the combination of two types of outerwear.

  • Under the coat, you may well wear a thin short down jacket, a leather jacket will hide under the fur coat, and you can put on a poncho over the down jacket or parka. But be careful - such layering needs to be carefully considered.

#3 Insulation: warm tights are everything

About the main thing: how to warm up with minimal damage to the image, namely tights. If in your mind this is an object, excuse me, the color of childish surprise, up to the armpits and gathering like an accordion on your knees, leave this picture in your memories.

  • Modern warm tights with angora and other non-spiky wool, as well as melange and cotton, are not only pleasant to wear, but can also become a stylish accent in your image. Yes, now it is warm and beautiful winter clothes.
  • Warm, but not so aesthetic tights can be hidden in microfiber: wear dimensionless tights over such tights. So that your secret is not revealed, buy for these purposes dense non-translucent models of at least 60 den, and preferably more than 100 den.

Another warming option is beautiful warm leggings, which, as already mentioned, can be chosen even with patterns and even under a skirt.

#4 Outerwear: disguise lessons

We have already touched a little on the layering in outerwear, but there are a few more nuances.

Firstly, modern fashion is so multifaceted that, depending on the latitudes and winter weather, you can afford anything: a fur coat, sheepskin coat, overcoat, down jacket, parka. Especially relevant are long winter coats. But when choosing outerwear, consider compatibility with your most traditional clothes and shoes, and pay special attention to finishing. Fur, pockets and zippers in the wrong places can visually spoil the figure and simplify the image.

Secondly, the volume is inevitable - any outerwear adds it. But bright accents will divert attention from this fact: a wide hat, an original beret, a voluminous snood or a plaid scarf, or whatever else you come up with. And yes, small beanie hats complete with snood are still in fashion.

Thirdly, outerwear can be ... pants. We dress beautifully and warmly, but thinly underneath, and on top we put on an equally beautiful puffy suit, which is a la ski. So you can hide woolen pipes, and jeggings and any other bulky bottom and, accordingly, a lot of top options. But do not forget to think about shoes - what will you be wearing when you take off your outfit.

#5 Shoes: always be on top

Shoes are one of the main attributes that form a fashionable image. And in many respects it depends on her whether the girl will be warm. Therefore, the rule of one centimeter:

  • the sole of the shoe in the cold season should be at least a centimeter thick.

The higher from the ground, the warmer you will be, and vice versa: boots with a thin sole, even with the very very insulation, will give cold to the feet.

This is good news for lovers of heels who feel comfortable in such shoes at any time of the year. Firstly, if it is a stable heel plus platform or platform shoe, it is already warmer based on the principle described above. Secondly, in order to carry yourself in heels, more energy is expended, and, accordingly, it is also warmer due to your own efforts. Naturally, we are talking about a mild winter, and not about ice and snowstorms, when it is traumatic.
