Day of the motorist: features and traditions of the holiday of drivers. When is the professional holiday of public transport workers When the road transport day is celebrated

In 2017, the Day of Road Transport Workers falls on October 29.

Today we can no longer imagine our life without road transport. But we do not even think about how difficult the work of professional drivers, those who deliver goods, who ensure the smooth operation of enterprises, who work in passenger transport, is. Well-functioning motor transport is one of the components of the smooth functioning of the entire national economy of the country.

The professional holiday of workers of road transport and road facilities has been celebrated in our country since 1996 on the basis of the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation of 07.11.96 N 1435 "On the establishment of the Day of workers of road transport and road facilities." In 2000, it was decided to celebrate separately the professional holiday of road workers every year on the third Sunday in October, and the holiday every year on the last Sunday in October.

Automobile transport today is a link between many industries and regions; the economic potential of the entire country depends on its condition. Therefore, the development of the road network and traffic safety are becoming especially relevant and require coordinated work of all levels of government.

Holiday Day of Road Transport Workers is a holiday of drivers, workers, engineering and technical workers and employees, heads of motor transport and passenger auto enterprises, scientists of industry science and teachers of educational institutions. In solving all the problems facing the industry, the experience of veterans of automobile and passenger transport, who gave the best years of their lives to their favorite profession, is invaluable.

Today, not only the stable functioning of the national economy, but also the daily life of millions of Russians is unthinkable without vehicles. Motorists account for more than half of freight traffic, with only 75% of the country's population being transported daily by passenger auto enterprises.

The role of motor transport in ensuring foreign economic relations of Russia has significantly increased. Despite fierce competition, domestic carriers are strengthening their positions in the international market of road transport services, cars with the Russian flag are exploring new roads and countries.

The number of cars in Russia is increasing every year and the composition of the car fleet is changing qualitatively. The growth in the number of personal cars clearly shows an improvement in the well-being of the population, and a significant increase in freight traffic on the country's roads indicates an economic growth.

Conscientious work and professional skill of workers of motor transport enterprises providing services to the population, industry and agriculture of Russia are of great importance.

The car is becoming the main means of transportation for the population. Mass motorization is already having a significant impact on the development of territories and settlements, on the processes of trade and consumption, on the formation of entrepreneurship, on the entire way of life of many Russians.

There is no alternative to road transport in a number of sectors. This is the provision of retail trade, transportation of high-value and urgent cargo over short and medium distances, transport support of production logistics, small business.

Road transport is the most flexible and popular form of transport. It has a number of important differences from other transport industries. The bulk of the country's car park is operated by non-transport organizations. At the same time, the road network, along with the fleet of commercial vehicles, is also used by vehicles that are in the personal use of citizens.

The scope of application of vehicles is wide. It performs most of the short intraregional transportations, delivers goods to railway stations and river docks and delivers them to consumers.

More than 97% of all licensed transport entities are concentrated in road transport. In the field of commercial and non-commercial road transport, about half a million business entities are now employed. Their activity takes place in conditions of rather high intra-industry and interspecific competition.

In recent years, the total number of bus and truck fleets has changed almost insignificantly. Meanwhile, the number of passenger cars in the ownership of citizens is growing rapidly. The country's motorization is stimulated by investments of the population and business, which annually invest up to $ 4 billion in new cars alone. In fact, all sectors of the economy, as well as the socio-cultural sphere, passengers and owners of private cars and other types of transport, which are adjacent links in the system of commodity circulation, become the end consumers of motorization.

The disadvantages of road transport include the low productivity of the rolling stock, as well as the relatively high (significantly higher than on water and rail) transportation costs. In addition, road transport is one of the main air pollutants.

Among the problems of motor transport, it is necessary to name an intensive increase in the number of passenger cars (by 8-10% annually). Especially in big cities. At the same time, the harmful effect of cars on the environment is increasing, road safety issues are becoming more complicated, and the throughput of many roads is decreasing. First of all - urban.

It is no exaggeration to say that the history of land vehicles began with the invention of the wheel. But times have changed, the rhythm of life has accelerated, and now we cannot do without cars, buses, trolleybuses - transport plays an increasing role in our daily life.

Cars are irreplaceable, and there are more and more of them every year. Cars have become high-speed transport, thanks to which we have the opportunity to cover great distances and get to the most inaccessible corners of the world. In this regard, the number of professions serving road transport is also increasing. And the profession of a driver was and remains one of the most widespread.

Therefore, it is not surprising that in many countries there are holidays dedicated to these professions. After all personnel of road transport - this is the basis of his life... In the era of the Soviet Union Day of road transport workers was established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of October 1, 1980 "On holidays and memorable days" and was celebrated on the last Sunday of October.

In 1991, the republics of the USSR became independent states, but traditionally today the Day of Road Transport Workers - the Day of the Motorist - is celebrated in

Cars have left a significant mark in the events of world history. This is the foundation of the world famous automobile company "Ford Motor" in 1903, this is the first automobile competition in the world in 1894, this is the first tests of a home-made car in 1885. This and many, many other unforgettable events.

The editors of the "Calendar of Events" project sincerely congratulate all motorists - professionals and amateurs - on this dynamic and one of their favorite professional holidays. We wish everyone a safe ride, fair wind and excellent roads.

Other holidays in the section "International Holidays"

When officially congratulated on this holiday, it is fully called the Day of Automobile and Road Workers. Which sometimes causes confusion, because there is also a separate Day of Road Workers, celebrated on the 3rd Sunday of October. But these are different dates, which should be remembered when preparing to celebrate the Day of the Motorist.

The merits of motorists to society are extremely great. Their work is not easy, often dangerous. However, it is thanks to their activities that factories work, shops are full of goods, and we can freely move where we want. Therefore, the Day of the Motorist, given the number of people celebrating it, can be safely called a national holiday.

History

The Day of the Motorist acquired its official status back in the Soviet Union after the issuance of the corresponding decree of the Presidium of the USSR Armed Forces. This memorable event took place in 1980. The last Sunday in October became its own professional holiday for the workers of many Soviet automobile enterprises. The date quickly became popular with everyone involved in the field of motoring, and there were more than 10 million such people in the Soviet Union.

In 1996, the status of this holiday was also officially confirmed by the decree of the President of Russia. Gradually, it began to be celebrated not only by workers of motor transport enterprises, but also by many car owners-private traders. But today half of Russian families have their own cars. It is easy to understand that tens of millions of people celebrate this date.

Traditions

It is interesting that the Day of the Motorist is celebrated today not only in the Russian Federation, but, in almost all the former republics of the USSR. It is celebrated both in enterprises and in the family circle. A wide variety of events are held in car farms - from traditional meetings with congratulations, presenting valuable gifts and awards to thematic concerts, corporate feasts, car exhibitions and even races, in which employees of organizations take part.

Well, car enthusiasts are happy to be congratulated on this day by their family and friends. Of course, the colleagues of the “birthday men” do not stand aside either. Domestic media often remind about the holiday. Often on TV there are films and programs of relevant topics.

Date in 2019: October 27, Sunday.

Every day millions of cars are in a hurry for human affairs. Carloads are being carried by cars, dangerous and everyday, they are in a hurry to deliver a doctor to a patient, and workers to their cozy offices or noisy factories. And drivers tirelessly turn the steering wheel - people whose lives have become roads, where they feel like real heroes. Do not forget to congratulate the drivers at the end of October, on Sunday, when Chauffeur Day is celebrated in Russia and other countries.

How does the morning begin? From the chirping of birds and the rustle of foliage? Or maybe from the music of streams and songs of the wind? A resident of a metropolis can only dream of such an idyll. The daily roar of engines and the screams of horns, the hum of the traffic and the screeching of brakes - this is the usual soundtrack of modern cities. Our streets are just flooded with transport. And in the outback, all the signs of civilization break through the pristine silence. After all, human activity has long become dependent on cars. As the number of vehicles grows, so does the number of drivers, professionals and amateurs. And all of them will celebrate the Day of the Motorist at the end of October.

Who is celebrating the holiday?

The profession of a driver, which has become familiar and commonplace for us, was a rarity literally a century and a half ago. After all, if you look at it, the invention that turned the entire economy of the planet was brought to life by historical standards not so long ago.

And it all started with the most global invention of mankind - an ordinary wheel. The wheel, which symbolizes infinity, and the desire for movement, that is, life.

For a long time, a person was satisfied with transport in the form of carts, carts, carriages, where an ordinary horse remained a traction power. But the constant pursuit of speed was the impetus for the invention of the internal combustion engine, which became the determining factors in the development of the future automotive industry.

And already in the 19th century, the townspeople were frightened and surprised by the eccentric carriages that moved through the streets without a horse. Unlike other unusual solutions of designers, who often meet with persistent resistance from society, it was this invention that was destined to become a key one in the further fate of all mankind.

Until a certain point, private transportation was truly a luxury. And the purpose of the machines was associated exclusively with the transportation of important goods, high-ranking personalities. Cars have found their place in the military, industrial and agricultural sectors. The high-speed movement of goods, information, people has an incredible impact on the development of the economy.

Of course, a car is not a carriage, and it does not need a horse. But to control such a unique machine, a person is still needed. The first chauffeurs were enthusiasts, full of curiosity and even heroism.

In the future, even women sit behind the wheel, who surprise with their endurance and labor feats behind the wheel.

The drivers played an important role in the fight against fascism. They heroically scurried about in their trucks or cars under a hail of bullets, delivering ammunition or important dispatches. How many wounded did they save by taking the soldiers out of the battlefield? How many lives were saved by delivering vital foodstuffs to the besieged cities.

It is thanks to the selfless work of the drivers that the unique cultural values and equipment of industrial enterprises that were evacuated to quieter regions were preserved.

The post-war years are associated with the restoration of industry, residential buildings, roads, communications, and everywhere there was a need for transport and, definitely, drivers.

Every year the number of vehicles increases significantly. The modern economy makes high demands on the speed of movement of goods, to logistics, to the provision of industry.

Freight and passenger transportation has become a separate sector of the economy with its own characteristics, requirements and laws. People involved in the management of road transport are the first applicants for congratulations on the professional holiday of the chauffeur. After all, any day of the driver, when it is snowing or raining, the sun bakes or the heat dries up, passes behind the wheel, and kilometers of unfamiliar trails, beautiful fields and native forests, or familiar and familiar streets, stops and houses flicker before your eyes.

People whose work is associated with the creation, maintenance, and repair of cars are also waiting for congratulations on the Day of the Motorist 2019. After all, it is thanks to their work and knowledge of their craft that modern cars run along the roads at great speeds without endangering the lives of passengers and pedestrians.

And, of course, all amateurs, to whom, perhaps, every second inhabitant of cities and fifth rural areas can be attributed, will not forget to raise their glasses on Chauffeur's Day in 2019 - what date, the festive calendar and the history of the celebration will tell you.

history of the holiday

Despite the relative youth of the profession, the Day of the Motorist itself has a rather interesting history. Many sources report that the holiday takes its historical roots in the 80th year. This information can be found on many resources.

But in reality, for the first time about the importance of driving at the state level, they started talking back in the USSR in the 70s.

The prerequisite was the appeal of the workers, in which attention was drawn to the absence of a corresponding holiday. And the decision was made. The Presidium of the Supreme Council establishes a holiday date in December 1976. The first name of the driver's day sounded like "Day of road transport workers."

The holiday really only extended to people whose work was involved in the automotive sector, no matter in the freight or passenger sector. Fans did not celebrate this professional holiday. The idea was quickly picked up by both the heads of the enterprises and the drivers themselves. Journalists, printing companies and even the post office did not lag behind. All calendars, diaries and even envelopes have marks about the new holiday.

And directly in 1980, the holiday was renamed, and received the more familiar name of the Day of the Motorist. The basis for such changes was the Decree signed in October 1980, which regulates most of the holidays, as well as memorable dates. But the day of the celebration remained unchanged - the last Sunday in October.

With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the dates of many holidays have changed. Each new country adopted its own laws and decrees, on the basis of which new ones were established and old ones were transferred. Interestingly, the driver's professional holiday in most post-Soviet countries has remained unchanged regarding the date of the celebration. But the names can be found completely different. When they celebrate Motorist Day in 2019, what date, depends on the country.

So, the Day of the Motorist in Russia is divided into more specialized holidays, which are celebrated by people of different professions. Directly "Day of the worker of road and city transport" is established in 2012, but the date of celebration remains. and is postponed in 2000 to the third Sunday. In this way, the holidays were divided directly between drivers and people responsible for the condition and maintenance of roads. In 2000, a new holiday for drivers is born. The initiator was the Ministry of Defense. It is customary to congratulate all military drivers on May 29. The date is associated with a historical event - the formation of the first automobile company in 1910.

In Ukraine, the holiday is preserved under the name "Day of the motorist and road worker", which is confirmed by the Decree of the first President Kravchuk, which was signed in 1993, on October 13. The date of the driver's day also remains unchanged - the last Sunday in October. But what will happen with the pro-Soviet holidays in the country in the future is unknown, and, perhaps, the drivers will get used to the new date.

Belarus also did not come up with new dates and holidays. The President's decree approves the Day of the Motorist in October 1995 with the same name and date.

But in Kazakhstan, they refuse the classic driver's holiday. Instead, the Day of Transport Workers was established in 1998 on the basis of a presidential decree. Solemn events dedicated to transport workers do not take place in October, but in August, on the first Sunday.

About the profession of a driver

A driver is an interesting, but at the same time, a very responsible profession. This kind of professional activity is in great demand today. Despite the emergence of new, faster modes of transport, road transport still remains relevant and in demand. People of this profession work in public, private, departmental organizations and enterprises.

Their duties include not only the management of passenger or freight, special or departmental transport, but also responsibility for the technical condition of the transport.

It is the driver who is obliged to make an emergency decision in order to avoid dangerous and emergency situations on the road. He must know well the structure of the car and, if necessary, eliminate breakdowns that occurred on the way.

Depending on the specifics and type of activity of the organization where the driver works, he can additionally play the role of a security guard, bodyguard, freight forwarder, loader, courier, taxi driver, international affairs officer. Definitely, the driver is responsible for the safety of the cargo, as well as the comfort and safety of passengers.

Undoubtedly, it is impossible to become a driver without having a driving license of a certain category. But this is not enough. The professional perfectly knows the rules of the road, improves his qualifications and constantly gets acquainted with the updates of the legislative base concerning his work.

Driving is not that difficult, and almost every second man in the street has similar skills. But not everyone can become a good driver. A person who decides to devote his life to such a business must be ready for many hours of travel without rest, for the monotony of long trips, for nervous overstrain associated with driving on roads filled with transport, for work in uncomfortable conditions.

Congratulations to drivers

Today is your holiday, driver. And we say thank you for your responsibility and endurance, for your attention and patience. May your roads be smooth and without sharp turns, may your own car not let you down during a rush, may your eyes not get tired of monotony, and your heart will always be happy with a good mood.

For those who are much more comfortable on four wheels than on their own two, we say words of congratulations. We wish the driver a variety of everyday life and good rest, good health and fortitude. And do not forget to raise your glass if the road and the priceless car do not await tomorrow.

I know he doesn't see the point

Without your rudder.

Therefore, on the day of the motorist

I will congratulate him.

And let him not be frightened

Bumps, mud and ice.

And his eyes are shining

From speed to takeoff.

Kilometers will be shown by the counter,

The navigator will show you the way.

Be sure, trucker,

On the holiday, your relatives are waiting for you.

May your angel help you

Always safe to work

May not be able to touch you

No sorrow, no sadness, no trouble.

Larisa, August 14, 2016.

Automobile transport has become an integral part of our life, regardless of whether you live in a metropolis or a provincial town. It is not surprising that every car owner or person whose work is associated with this type of transport annually celebrates the Day of the Motorist, despite the fact that, by definition, this holiday is considered exclusively professional.

Today it seems that the holiday of the motorist has been from time immemorial, but it is worth delving into history, and it turns out that such a date appeared only a little more than 30 years ago. And yet, even in such a relatively short time, there has been a lot of controversy about when to celebrate and what is the official name of this holiday.

Day of the motorist: the history of the holiday

The first mention of the Day of the Motorist appeared more than 30 years ago. In Soviet times, it was a holiday date for all road transport workers. It should be noted that the reason for the celebration was not only among the drivers, but also among all employees who were directly related to the road sector.

The legislative body of the USSR issued a decree, which stated that from this moment (October 1, 1980), the last Sunday in October is a professional holiday for all drivers, which was named - Motorist Day. The people of the Soviet Union called the holiday in a simple way - "Driver's Day". That is why there is currently a lot of controversy about how the Motorist Day is correctly called.

With the collapse of the USSR, many republics postponed certain holiday dates, while others completely abandoned Soviet holidays. The Day of the Motorist is also no exception - the holiday is officially celebrated today in only a few former republics of the USSR, including the Russian Federation, Ukraine and Belarus.

As for the date of the holiday "Driver's Day", it should be noted that only in the three above-mentioned countries the date of celebration has not changed. At the same time, there is some difference in the celebration of the Day of the Motorist in Russia from the same holiday in Ukraine and Belarus.

Celebrating the Day of the Motorist in Russia

Many would agree that motorists and road workers are two completely different categories. In addition, representatives of the second industry in some cases have nothing to do with driving. To prevent any disputes from arising, the Russian government considered it expedient to create two completely different, but equal holidays.

The professional holiday "Driver's Day" in, and the Russian Federation, as before, is celebrated on the last Sunday of October. There is only one difference - in the first two post-Soviet countries this holiday is combined with the "Day of the road worker". While the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin in the decree "On the Day of Road Workers", issued on March 23, 2000, ordered to postpone the "Day of the road builder" to the third Sunday in October.

Today, the driver's holiday has practically lost its original meaning, becoming a holiday date for everyone who owns a car. But it is always worth remembering that Motorist Day is not just another professional holiday, but a tribute to all workers in this industry, without whose work life in the modern world would be impossible.

It is worth noting that those who were driving during the Second World War, supplying ammunition, ferrying wounded soldiers from the front line, taking out women and children from the occupied cities, have the right to celebrate the Day of the Motorist today.

On March 9, 2020, the deadline for submitting songs for participation in the Eurovision 2020 contest has expired. All day Russian TV viewers waited in vain - on the official website of the competition in the section "Participants" the song from the group "Little Big" representing our country did not appear. Instead of the title, it says "No song yet" and "To be announced".

But there is no need to worry - the organizers said that the song was received on time. And the delay can be easily explained - the Russian "sponsors" decided to "warm up" the public's interest in the event and arrange a show from the premiere of the song.

We tell when, what time and on which channel the presentation of the song "Little Big" will take place for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020.

Very soon - Thursday 12 March 2020, we will find out with which song the "Little Big" group will represent Russia at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest.

It is announced that the presentation of the song "Little Big" will take place on "Channel One" live broadcast "Evening Urgant"... The start of the program is scheduled for 23:30 Moscow time March 12, 2020.

Earlier, the broadcast with the "Little Big" group in the "Evening Urgant" program was planned by Channel One for Friday, March 13, 2020 (starting at 23:20 Moscow time).

That is, the presentation of the song "Little Big" for the Eurovision Song Contest 2020:
* When - March 12, 2020 (TH).
* On the "First" channel, in the program "Evening Urgant".
* What time - at 23:30 Moscow time.

The front of the group, Ilya Pruskin, announced that the song will be fun and with a "Brazilian flavor". Perhaps the song "Uno" will be the composition for the European song contest, a 15-second segment of which has already appeared on YouTube.

Updated 03/12/2020 at 11:45 PM: The composition with which the team will perform at Eurovision became (as we expected) song "Uno"... You can watch the clip on the website of the "First" channel in the "Music" section.
