One of the most talked about moments in Left Behind was the kissing scene between Ellie and Riley. On this occasion Gaygamer interviewed the scriptwriter and director The Last of Us by Neil Druckman.

Nile: In TLOU we showed the love between parent and child, between Joel and Ellie ... in the comic we told the story of Ellie and Riley's friendship. While working on the expansion, I wondered if they turned out to be more than just friends to each other?

Gaygamer: When discussing kissing, many players say that the girls are too young and have not yet decided on their sexual orientation. Others say there is nothing unusual about a kiss between two close friends. Some that they just got confused by the apocalypse.

Nile: It was strange to read comments like: "They are still young, and at this age there are many uncertainties" or "They are still looking for themselves." At Naughty Dog, we want to create games that are open to different interpretations. Gaygamer: Have you ever wondered how players will perceive sexual orientation Ellie?

Nile: Many people said that Ellie turned out to be a very strong character. In a sense, she can be called a tomboy, and now we also made her a lesbian ... It was not intentional. We wanted to tell a good romantic story, which I personally have not seen in AAA games. I have not seen a spectacular kiss that would move me.

Future life changes greatly under the pressure of circumstances.
